I remember an Adrien Broner fight- I think it was Escobedo- where he was praised as the second coming and he really hadn't done anything at that point. Super hyped up. And he even came into that fight overweight and losing the belt on the scales. Hype jobs have been around since the beginning of the sport and will continue to be. Honestly I think they are much more popular now than ever. However, GGG has crushed everybody he's fought. He can't be considered elite yet. I get that. He has to have the right opponents, but he is not the worst at all. Many have been hyped up way more and been crushed the minute they stepped up.
