Originally posted by TheBoxingXpert View PostAndre Ward is not just an olympic gold medalist and a fighter who haven't lost since he was 12, but he's also a proven world champion and got one of the best resumes in modern boxing.
1: Carl Froch
Froch is a guy with everything from good size, respectable power, a legendary chin and great stamina. Froch's victories includes guys like Kessler, Bute, Pascal, Abraham, Groves, Taylor, etc. In other words, Froch is a proven elite warrior. Froch has always had a stylistical problem with fast-handed opponents, which could be seen in his fights against Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell, Groves and Ward. The stylistical advantage shouldn't take anything away from this win, though. This was a great win and only an idiot would think otherwise.
2: Mikkel Kessler
Kessler only ever lost to 3 elite fighters: Ward, Calzaghe and Froch, who he went 1-1 against. Besides that, Kessler has proven to be a dangerous mix of good size, extreme power and good skills, even better basic skills than the ones of Froch, but just with less ability to adept. He has defeated some good opponents, with Froch being his best win, and no one can deny that this was a true quality win for Ward.
3: I could go on and on with quality names like Abraham, Bika, Rodriquez, Barrera, etc., but the point is, Ward's resume is full of good wins.
Bika-c level journeyman
Green-c minus level journeyman
Abraham-c level at 168 /best weight was 160
Kessler-b minus level /headbutts galore
Froch-b level /solid win
Dawson-c level at 168 /severely drained
Rodriguez -c minus level/domestic fighter
Smith-d level/domestic fighter
Barrera-c minus level/domestic fighter
Brand -d level /old domestic fighter
Ward won an overated tournament that was almost all at home in oakland. He gets away with over clinching and headbutts.
His resume is overated .

50yr old Hopkins was still top 3 at 175. At 168 Dawson gets knocked out by anyone top 10, so that's not a better scalp

Originally posted by Jubei View PostNot impressive, his best win is Froch. Is Froch great? Well, when GGG challenged him he rather retired.
Ward can only win in his backyard, he is afraid to travel.
If Ward was for real he would have taken the Froch rematch.
GGG took that very same fight in a heartbeat and made Froch retire.
Also these people here pretending as Ward was anything special, yet nobody watches his fights. Something is wrong lol.
Taken the Foch rematch? Ward agreed to Wembley but not Nottingham. Did you see anything in the first fight that leads you to believe that Froch could ever beat Ward no matter the venue?
g string took the very same fight? the fight was never really on the table, so you can't really say that.
Made Froch retire? I know this fits your agenda, but Froch was already retired when a Froch/g string fight was being discussed. Why didn't team g string offer Ward a fight at 168?Last edited by just the facts; 08-12-2016, 04:25 PM.

There are weigh divisions for a reason.
He may have signed , but that doesnt mean he wasnt drained. He was b level fighter at 175. He was a c level fighter at 168 with no energy.
Tyere is no way anyone can twist it. ,that win over dawson was garbage. Its just as good as his win over smith.

He made 150 vs forbes and got his cheek bone broke is a shhty performance. I was there. He wanted a floyd rematch, floyd said come to 147 , so oscar fought forbes and trained for floyd only for floyd to pretend to retire. He then fought pac and got beat up. Oscar was drained and looked half dead.
Roy went up to heavy to fight ruiz by packing muscle. He then ******ly went back down to 175 for tarver and looked dead at the weigjt and pulled off the victory. But the damage was done. You mess up your kidneys doing that.
Science says being drained is dangerous and you arent you 100 percent self
