No I doubt anyone criutuciused Floyd. I knew it wouldn't be a great win for Floyd its just people were happy Floyd was coming back as he hadn't fought foir nearly 2years. Floyd only got criticism when his fans tried out to make out historically it was a great winLast edited by hugh grant; 08-12-2016, 06:05 PM.Comment

I think McCrory got a few things right. Both guys are fairly untested, despite wins over world-level guys. I understand where some critics come from saying that guys like GGG should test themselves against the best...a champion should want to continuously prove he's the best. I simply disagree with their aversion to research the situation & understand. No one is going to fault Brook for taking the bigger payday over Vargas. Even though it means he has to get in the deep end with a KO artist. And it's not like GGG's team aren't pursuing the best they can get...& more precisely, K2 is looking to make the most money off the best they can get. So the bigger the name, the better. And usually, big name means big talent...usually. Those who dislike GGG's resume have to at least agree that K2 contacts everybody. As a boxing fan, I am still dumbstruck that fighters nowadays would rather stay undefeated (or cherry-pick) than take a challenge. Guys straight duck GGG. Kell Brook stepped to the challenge when EubankJr did not.
I feel so bad for Kell Brook fans because they have to endure the hate thrown GGG's way for being avoided "like the plague," as Froch once said. Just because Brook is fighting GGG, his fans have to endure the straight hating on GGG...it's gotta piss them off to know how downgraded their boxer is. And Brook fans know that no quality WW is calling him out...only recently when Spence started moving up the rankings was he targeted. In a sense, Brook fans know GGG's pain. Oh, & Vargas might have been upset with Brook for taking the GGG fight over him...but it worked out for him by getting the Pacquiao fight. Serendipity. Crazier things can happen. I mean, Hagler was the unanimous p4p fighter in the world when SRL unretired to fight him. I know for sure this is a much more quality fight than Canelo/Khan. Brook was a champion who is perceived as being too risky for the reward. Pretty much the same for GGG. Except most of the guys who ducked GGG were looking for a retirement package rather than a payday.
I would encourage all GGG haters to just not watch the fight. Pay attention to other fighters. There's so many good boxers out there that it's narrow-minded to focus on just one. Of course, the haters won't listen to me, & so they endure the pain they create for themselves. That's on them. The rest of us get to enjoy two world class boxers in front of a raucous crowd.Comment

Then you tell me, hype man, who did K2 not contact for potential GGG opponents? You can't bring up Lara or Ward. So name me these boxers K2 did not try to set a fight up with? Oh, & did you find that email that would completely exonerate Andre Ward?Comment

There you go again, hype man. Just ignore the entire world boxing rankings, why don't you? Go ahead & ignore all the ranked MW's GGG KO'ed...if it helps you sleep at night, do it. While you're at it, ignore all the belts, all the titles, all the p4p rankings, & stop watching boxing altogether. That sound fair to you?Comment

it is a complete circus-fight
it is a circus-fight because "Noone knows how brook will be as a mw"
same as Canelo/Khan, even worse.....
No, they are saying that he may not even be the best welterweight.
Big difference.
Being "any good at welterweight" should not be enough to land you a Golovkin fight, unfortunately.
Nowhere near the mismatch as Khan vs Canelo, even if it is a mismatch.
At least Brook was a top-tier welterweight. Khan loses to any top welterweight easily enough.Comment

Let me ask you this, hype man: how come you have sooooo much more hate for GGG than any other fighter? Obsessed much? Did GGG do something bad to you in the past? Did a fan of GGG steal your girl? Why do you spend so much time attacking GGG & his fans? If a boxer ducks the GGG fight, shouldn't you have far more hate for them? Shouldn't you have far more hate for Canelo, EubankJr, Saunders & Jacobs since they could have proven your stance that GGG is a hype job, but they're too scared to try?...shouldn't the logic dictate that you do nothing but attack those who ducked GGG? I mean, you're not going to get anywhere trying to discredit GGG when guys straight duck him. So, why the hate?
If you don't want to get your arse handed to you again in this debate, just go back to work hype man.Comment
