Moving Las Vegas to Oakland seems like a huge undertaking.Promoter Kathy Duva confirmed Monday to BoxingScene.com that, as planned, the Sergey Kovalev-Andre Ward light heavyweight showdown November 19 still will take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

With the way AC casinos are losing money, it would be no surprise if more of them follow Taj's lead.. AC was poor man's Vegas & it shot to **** now..Welp, Atlantic City is out of the picture

All hardcore boxing fans should attend this. It would be a great turn out. I will be there, I LOVE how close it is to the Cosmo lol but anyways, GO WARD!!! MERICA vs Russia #coldwarComment

Canelo couldn't sell out T-Mobile Arena because his fans were fed up with Caneloweight. This and that don't equal the same thing. Canelo's debut shouldn't count against the venue's appeal. Vegas is still the capital of boxing.Comment

It still doesn't explain why Ward & RocNation didn't want the tickets to go on sale. Actually, it appears to be that Duva is covering RocNation's ******ity in considering a different venue.Comment

I guarantee the boxing fans who are going to watch this event will be more than happy to get the Vegas scene as a bonus. They can't have it in Oakland because the original contracts excludes it.This is what Duva has been waiting for since she signed Kovalev with HBO. It's finally her time to put on the biggest fight for Main Events in decades, and first big fight with her as lead promoter. She's obsessed with a Vegas fight. Remember she said Kovalev's home base would be Vegas with MGM? They sold 2,000 tickets to that fight and haven't fought there since. The only logical place for this fight to take place is the Bay area. Ward doesn't sell tickets outside the Bay area. Kovalev doesn't sell tickets anywhere in the U.S. And the build up to this fight has done nothing to make it a bigger fight. Anticipation is about the same as it was when it was first announced.Comment

I agree Vegas is still the boxing capitol of the world. All big fights should be in Vegas. I just don't see these two putting more than 10,000 in that Arena with Vegas prices. Especially with these two small hall promoters.Comment
