Honestly that's probably where it should be. If Canelo couldn't sell out the T-Mobile arena Ward vs. Kovalev is gonna flop. New York killed boxing when they allowed the UFC to slip that million dollar insurance into the bill legalizing MMA in NY State

I think this fight is better if its held in a smaller arena in Vegas or Atlantic City where both guys have fought.

Whatever their guarantees are they will b making substantially more just by what they save in taxes by not fighting in NYC... I wonder how much extra they're paying Ward 2 pulling out of Oakland ...the guy's just cemented there...

AC is a dump. I use to drive down from NYC to catch some fights there but now its just a shiethole of a town.

Too bad NYC taxes are a killer. This fight would have done well at MSG or the Barclays.

This is what Duva has been waiting for since she signed Kovalev with HBO. It's finally her time to put on the biggest fight for Main Events in decades, and first big fight with her as lead promoter. She's obsessed with a Vegas fight. Remember she said Kovalev's home base would be Vegas with MGM? They sold 2,000 tickets to that fight and haven't fought there since. The only logical place for this fight to take place is the Bay area. Ward doesn't sell tickets outside the Bay area. Kovalev doesn't sell tickets anywhere in the U.S. And the build up to this fight has done nothing to make it a bigger fight. Anticipation is about the same as it was when it was first announced.

Yeah, AC is fading fast. The Trump is closing since the workers are on strike. The Prudential Center in Newark is too big IMO.
