It would take something like a prime Roy Jones Jr. or minimum a prime Joe Calzaghe to be able beat him (and I'm not even sure if Calzaghe would win, but stylistically, he stands a very good chance).

Kovalev got bad defense, was falling over his own feet again and again against Pascal and couldn't stop grandpa Hopkins, who in many ways is an ancient and slower version of Ward. He couldn't even stop Chilemba!

Golovkin is from 160lbs and Ward is soon gonna take over 175lbs. Golovkin is just too small and his limited skillset won't pierce Ward's defense.

I know Ward is gonna beat Kovalev soon and the worst thing is, when he makes Kovalev look ******, people will just say Kovalev that was overrated and that Ward would have lost if he fought Golovkin, lol.
So it's perfectly ok for you to trash, belittle and hate on GGG and Kovalev but if anyone hates your beloved Ward they are ******ed.

No. That's what you guys don't seem to understand. I don't bash Golovkin. I mock his hardcore fans, most of whom are poorly educated in the sport and behave like stains on this forum.

I like Golovkin. I'm sad that his resume is a joke and he's not doing anything to remedy is. But, I love watching him fight and he seems like a nice enough guy.

Sure. I think it's pretty weak when people hate on either of those guys as fighters. There's legit reasons to criticize both (GGG's resume, Kovalev's racism). Shytting on what they do in the ring is nonsense. They're both very good fighters.

I think their hardcore fans tend to be pretty emotional though and can't handle seeing any criticism, no matter how fair and reasonable, without going ape shyt. I see it all the time around here.

You nailed it pretty well, bro.

There is always something to criticize about a fighter. In Ward's case, I criticize the fact that he calls himself Son of God. I think it's a very arrogant title. The creation is not like the Creator and the Creator does not have a son. And I didn't like how he was headbutting a lot when fighting Kessler, that's a dirty way to fight.

The reason why I may seem like I favour Ward and dislikes Golovkin and Kovalev is, that their ******ed racist fans makes me push the truth upon them harder.

I like Golovkin. Great chin, great power and an entertaining fighting style, certainly the best fighter at 160lbs. But when people start saying he can beat Ward, who has defeated opponents that are both bigger and better than Golovkin, then I speak up. It's unfair to Ward. At 160lbs and below, no fighter in the world can beat Golovkin and at the moment, with Ward at 175lbs, Golovkin could maybe even take over the 168lbs division. It depends on how good Ramirez, Jack and DeGale turns out to be. However, there is just no way that Golovkin would stand a chance against Ward. He's too small and too simple. Ward would make him look ******.

Kovalev is also a good fighter with great power and an entertaining style. But when people start talking like he's some technical scientist in the ring who was outboxing Hopkins for 12 rounds, then it sounds completely ******. The guy is falling over his own legs in his fights and gets knocked down by random dudes because his defense is horrible. Ward is gonna clown him. I love watching Kovalev fight and he's definetely one of the 10 best fighters in the world. But only an idiot would favour him against Ward. Not only is Ward better, but he's also a stylistical nightmare for Kovalev. Kovalev will not do any better than Kessler or Froch did, trust me. The only possible thing I could see going in Kovalev's favour is to score a flash knockdown when Ward gets too confident.

After watching Ward's last fight I'm convinced that GGG would KO him, even at 175.

The only hope he has of beating Kovalev is a crooked ref who allows him to blatently use his head to cut Krusher up the way he did Kessler.

So thinking that Golovkin or Kovalev would stand a chance against Ward makes them "haters"? That's what the thread starter is saying.

I'm a fan of his and even I think Golovkin has a poor resume. Its not entirely his fault-- some fighters have avoided him, the division is weak and his management sucks. But he's gotta do something to step it up.

Golovkin's resume IS a joke, mate. That doesn't mean Golovkin is a joke. He's not the only one to blame when the entire division, including Canelo, is ducking him.

Now, Golovkin did avoid the Ward fight, but I think it's fair, as Ward is from a higher weight class. I mean, should we start saying that any guy who doesn't move up is ducking someone?

Just take Golovkin for what he is. A strong tough elite fighter with a terrible resume and a funny head, who looks like a nice and chill guy.

After everything Ward has achieved during the Super Six Tournament and after, then yes, it IS hating if you start thinking that simple fighters like Golovkin and Kovalev stands a chance just because they punch hard. That's their only advantage against Ward. It's an insult to Ward to think that mere punching power can overcome his skills. He has not lost since he was 12 and no fighter who falls over his own legs can change that just because he punches hard.
