But dude is truly part of that struggle. I watched the shadow boxing but dang the background was more interesting. That didn't look like the kid was shadow boxing in a American backyard.

Tell him to hold the phone with the right hand at all times especially when he's hooking, PLEASE TELL HIM THAT!

A step back while throwing the hook wouldn't be bad either, hands up and chin tucked down, defensive basics, don't try to make him fight like Roy Jones before u teach him the basics of defense, you can't slip and move away from all punches, sometimes you're gonna have to parry and block and for that ur hands should be up and your chin should be tucked. Post a video of him sparring so that we can see where he really at and maybe give you some pointers.
