GGG/Lemieux sold 150k. Stop lying about it.

As low as the numbers for Crawford/Postol and Golovkin/Lemieux were, combined they didn't come close to losing as much money as Pacquiao/Bradley III

Roy Jones vs Hopkins II. Wasn't there word going around that it did so bad that Roy Jones didn't even get paid?

I would still like to know the numbers on the fight. I ordered it and i actually enjoyed myself. The opening fights were slugfest.

I was thinking about this fight myself in regard to PPV flops, but I think due to how everything was lined up with Mayweather & Showtime I'm not so sure you can say any particular Mayweather Promotions fight during his six fight deal with Showtime was a flop.

First off this deal basically worked like how PBC works. The promoter isn't taking THAT much of a risk if any. So like how PBC is on the hook, Showtime was on the hook as a 3rd party not the promoter & Showtime's actual overall deal with Floyd was a 6 fight deal which because of the Manny fight surely was overall profitable.

So while I think you could say the Berto fight for sure didn't make Showtime any extra money in regards to their deal with Floyd, the promoter for sure didn't lose any money on this fight or the overall deal nor did Showtime lose money in the overall deal with Floyd. So this one is a little more convoluted to break down vs most other PPV's, but there is for sure an argument to make that it lost money its just harder to breakdown it all with all the other factors involved.

I don't think anyone was expecting GGG's first PPV fight to do more than 200k buys. You had a Kazakhstan dude who speaks English like Borat, and a French-Canadian who only fought on HBO like wot? Once, or twice prior? And who didn't even have an impressive undefeated record - think he lost to Rubio, and some other cat who is a journeyman.

If you look at the buy rates, there is still enough for decent purses: 150k x 60 = 9,000,000; 65,000 x 60 = 3,900,000. I mean, that's more than they would have made on regular HBO prolly. Or their guarantees were at least the same as they would have made on HBO..
Dude, you've overestimated the money by 100%.

If the PPV costs $60, the promoter/fighters only receive half of that ($30). The cable and satellite companies keep the other half.

You mean HBO needs to chill. They're the only ones doing it.

Didn't crack 100,000 buys. 97,000 is completely accurate.

No, ESPN is more reliable than Hauser, and they said 150,000 to 160,000 buys.

                      You don't like Golovkin, right?
