Ward thinks he doesn't need anything more (as preparedness) in order to beat Kovalev, therefore he only fights this Brand bloke for the HBO $1.5-2 million purse secured by the deal...

Ward entire career is pointless don't you think?
A true champion is willing to face adversity and challenge someone in his own backyard Ward has never been good enough to do that, Ward has always been the favourite in his fights because he has everything his own way.
I think Ward fans get very touchy, sensitive when people tell them about how average he really is no real world class fighter would have to clinch your best fought opponents to get a win its just absolute desperation tbh.
