    • Best boxers after 6 days:
      (Guys with two fights)
      1. Hasanboy Dusmatov, Uzbekistan, Light-Fly: He still holds the two best wins and he did it in impressive fashion. His next opponent, Nico Hernandez, doesn't have the accomplishments the other two do, but if Dusmatov can also beat him impressively it could potentially keep him at #1 depending on the rest of the fighters and how Dusmatov performs here.
Wins over: Joselito Velasquez (2x Pan American Games Champion and #7 in the world), Birzhan Zhakypov (3x Olympian, 2x World Championship medalist-One Gold, One Bronze)

      2. Joshua Buatsi, Great Britain, Light-Heavy: I don't know what to say. He has stopped both his opponents and is one of the most exciting fighters so far. He next has an experienced world class opponent in Benchabla. Can Buatsi keep looking good? Can he keep his TKO/KO streak alive? Or will Benchabla pull, what would now, be an upset (before this tournament Benchabla would have probably been the favorite).
Wins over: Kennedy Katende (2008 Olympian) and Elshod Rasulov (3x World Championship medalist-Silver,Bronze,Bronze. 2x Asian Games Champion. 2007 Asian Champion. 3x Olympian. Ranked #6 in the World.)

      3. Shakhram Giyasov, Uzbekistan, Welter: Giyasov has two wins against good opposition. He looked good in both. I wish he was a little bit more accurate and kept his hands up more, but still solid performances. His fight against Iglesias will tell us a lot. If he manages to beat Roniel it would be huge, obviously. If Iglesias defeats him it would look good for Roniel for beating one of the best boxers/fighters of the tournament so far.
Wins over: Youba Sissokho (2015 European Championship Bronze medalist)
and Eimantas Stanionis (2015 European Champion, currently ranked #6 in world)

      4. Souleymane Cissokho, France, Welter: Has looked good for the most part, his last fight was a bit of a struggle. It was a close fight in other words. He didn't look bad it was just a close fight. But his opposition has been good so far to keep him off. Lets see if he can keep winning against another solid opponent in Adi.
Wins over: Imre Backsai (2010 European Champion) and Parviz Baghirov (2015 European Games Champion, 2015 World Championship Bronze, ranked #3 in the world)

      5. Vassiliy Levit, Kazakhstan, Heavy: Has looked great in both of his fights the only thing that hurts him is his opponents, but one of them was ranked in the top 10, so not super bad. His fight against Savon will tell us a lot about both. Levit will either show that he deserves to be ranked higher or Savon will take his spot.
Wins over: Yu Fengkai and Kennedy St-Pierre (Ranked #7 in the World)

      6. Joahnys Argilagos, Cuba, Light-Fly: Struggled in his first fight and took a split decision win, but looked sensational in his next fight. The only problem is that his opposition hasn't been that good. The two guys he has defeated aren't that accomplished. That's one of the reasons why he isn't ranked higher. He now faces one of the most entertaining and surprising fighters of the tournament. A victory over Martinez can potentially move him up higher. Martinez has looked pretty good.
Wins over: Galal Yafai and Peter Mungai Warui

      (Guys with one fight)
      7. Kairat Yeraliyev, Kazakhstan, Bantam: Yeraliyev had a good performance against a former world amateur champion. He got off to a wonderful start, but he did slow down a little, but Chalabiyev makes everyone work. He showed different looks in his fight. He showed good offense as well as good defense. He had a Whitaker-type of moment in the last round. Great fight and great win.
Win over: Javid Chalabiyev (2013 World Champion)

      8. Zhanibek Alimkhanuly, Kazakhstan, Middle: Alimkhanuly has had one of the best performances so far against a good opponent. He won every round and scored a knockdown. Just straight out dominated.
Win over: Antony Fowler (2013 World Championship Bronze, 2014 Commonwealth Champion)

      9. Robeisy Ramirez, Cuba, Bantam: Ramirez looked impressive in his first fight. Won all three rounds comfortably and the guy he beat wasn't a nobody.
Win over: Shiva Thapa (2015 World Championship Bronze medalist. Ranked #6 in the World.)

      10. Daniyar Yeleussinov, Kazakhstan, Welter: He had one of the best performances of the tournament so far. His opponent was very sold and is currently ranked in the top 10 in the World. If Yeleussinov keeps this form and looks like he did in this fight he is a definite contender for the Val Barker trophy. He is just an amazing boxer.
Win over: Josh Kelly (Ranked #7 in the World)

      11. Albert Selimov, Azerbaijan, Light: Dominated his fight against a solid opponent. His opponents only landed like 5 clean shots in the whole fight.
Win over: David Joyce (2009 European Union Champion)

In line: Martinez, Hernandez, Butdee, Balderas, Tojibaev, Conceicao, Oumiha, McCormack, Savon, Tulaganov

I decided to not include guys like Lazaro Alvarez or Fazliddin Gaibnazarov, because although they looked spectacular their first opponents were sub-par. They probably will get on the list if they win their next fights in impressive fashion though. I just wanted to give credit to the fighters that have looked good, solid, or great against good, solid, great opposition or have more than one fight already and have looked at least good in all their fights.
As good as La Cruz looked I decided to keep him off, because his opponent wasn't great. But don't worry La Cruz will make it up I'm sure. I mean he will probably win Gold after all, but for now I have to keep him off.
There are a few more fighters in the same situation that Alvarez, Gaibnazarov, and La Cruz are in right now. Looked great but the opponent wasn't anything special.

I'm doing these rankings, because I want to know myself who were the top 10-15 boxers at these games.
This may be my last ranking in a while. If it isn't then it definitely won't be this detailed. I feel like I forgot some stuff, but I'll leave at this for now. Make changes if necessary.

        Hey, what's up bro.
Well, Butsenko got robbed today. One of the biggest robberies at this tournament so far.
No, I don't think any Ukrainian will medal this year. I believe all of the males have been eliminated already.

Why is Ukraine doing bad? Well there is a few reasons.
There are some reasons that I would rather not get into tbh.

The young Ukrainians are doing good, so that gives a little hope.
And if Lomachenko and Usyk continue to have success I'm sure that will only be a positive for the youth.
Ukraine should start doing what Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are doing. It may be a little difficult right now, but it can be done.

I'm definitely feeling Tojibaev. I left him off the list because his first opponent wasn't anything special. I made an exception for Argilagos, who has yet to fight anyone that good, because he looked spectacular in his last fight. While Tojibaev has looked good I wouldn't say he has looked spectacular.
If Tojibaev beats and looks good against Conceicao that will place him so high on the list.
I was also thinking about putting Oumiha there. Both of them could be there. Their next fights will tell us a lot. Tojibaev is facing Conceicao and Oumiha is facing Selimov. If they can get those wins it would be huge. Selimov and Conceicao aren't just two of the top Lightweights they are probably some of the best amateur fighters p4p.
If Selimov and Conceicao get wins over them it would also do good for them. For beating two guys that have been looking good in this tournament.

By the way, I placed Tojibaev in the "In line" category, which basically means he could potentially be there. Let us see how he does against Conceicao.
Either way I do like Tojibaev.

The Conceicao-Tojibaev and Selimov-Oumiha fights are today, so we won't have to wait much.

              • I actually thought Martinez won that one. He landed more.
Argilagos has great footwork and upper-body movement, but he's not landing cleanly enough.

                • Martinez is landing more. 2-0 Martinez.
