The most impressive boxers/fighters have been (in my opinion):
Zhanibek Alimkhanuly, Kazakhstan, Middleweight
Vasiliy Levit, Kazakhstan, Heavyweight
Yurberjen Martinez, Colombia, Light-Flyweight
Hasanboy Dusmatov, Uzbekistan, Light-Flyweight
The three French fighters: Oumiha, Cissokho, Mbilli
The two Cuban boxers have been a little underwhelming to me. Savon looked good, but Okolie did better the second time fighting him.
They said Okolie is a fast learner. I think it's true. I said it before, Okolie would benefit from staying amateur a little longer.

i've actually been a little disappointed by the uzbeks as they seem to be very inclined to clinch and spoil, almost as if they've actually been trained for it
three fighters that impressed me were the lithuanian stanionis at welterweight, the azeri abdullayev at heavyweight and the tajik yunusov at lightweight who outboxed his opponent with one arm
the french team looks good too. i heard they are trained by a cuban coach now?

I said Stanionis has a great pro style and I can't wait for his fight against the Uzbek, Giyasov, should be a fun competitive fight.
Yeah, the Uzbeks have been doing a lot of clinching and spoiling, but they have been one of the more impressive teams so far. May not be one of the more entertaining teams to watch though.
Yunusov looked decent. He faces Conceicao today. Let's see how he does there. I doubt he wins. Yunusov is awkward and is a former World Championship medalist so he had success on the bigger stages before.
Oscar Valdez beat him rather easily at the 2012 Olympics.
I am not sure about the French having a Cuban coach. I haven't researched that. I believe one of their coaches is a former French amateur boxer though.
The French team has been looking really good so far, except the Heavyweight. They're going to have a difficult time getting medals. Oumiha will have to go through Selimov in the Quarterfinals. Selimov is 2-1 over him. Selimov beat him easily at Worlds last year.
Mbilli has to go through Delgado and then Arlen Lopez. That is a extremely difficult road.
Cissokho has the best shot to medal. I am worried that he has to face Parviz Baghirov of Azerbaijan though. I don't think Baghirov is all that good, but the judges always seem to favor him. Lets see if Cissokho can get a fair decision if he deserves it. If he beats Baghirov his chances of getting a medal are really good.Last edited by HI-TECH Boxing; 08-09-2016, 08:21 AM.
