I admire Brook and I'm probably going to end up rooting for him when he fights GGG. But I know that if Hearn had offered Kell the same money he was looking at for Vargas to move up for GGG, the fight wouldn't be happening.

There is absolutely no reason for a Ward Golovkin fight to be at anything less than 168. It's useless to expect any LHW to come down that far. Ultimately, you're exemplifying a point that many realize but refuse to acknowledge. Bigger boxers beat smaller punchers 9 times out of ten.
He wants Ward to lose 10lbs for Golovkin LMAO..... but I will give you 1 guess what he thinks of Mr "anyone from 154-168" losing 5lbs for Canelo?

GGG vs Canelo has already been done to death, by you, me, and everybody else with an interest in it, so I'm not even going to go there again.

Now figure out why by yourselves...
And even though Smith was fighting at 168 before, he also fought higher than that previously, and he came in overweight into that fight. I would guess both fighters wanted it to be above 168.
Ward was inactive for 2 years.. when you're not fighting, the training is not the same. You do a little more weights, a little less cardio, and lo and behold you're dealing with extra 5 lbs of muscle. You could see the changes in Ward during the Barrera fight. He definitely moved a lot less, and he talked about it.. how when fighters age they learn to do more with less.
If I had to bet, I'd guess Ward could have made 168 in 2015. But it would not have been pleasant or easy.
