“I’m not sure what weight Manny will fight at, I’ve not spoken to him about it yet but it could be 140, he walks around at about 142 anyway,” he [Roach] said.
Let's put Pac v Crawford to Bed

I don't understand how you equate Crawford saying that he would fight Pacquiao at 140 with Crawford refusing to fight him, especially when Pacquiao's team has been the one shooting out quotes about how easily Pac can make 140 and saying it's his best weight.
Was there a quotation that I missed from Pacquiao saying he won't be willing to go down to 140?Comment

Mayweather fought Alvarez when Mayweather was 36 and Alvarez was 23. Alvarez was considered the younger, stronger fighter. If Pacquaio is going to be held in the same regard as Mayweather, he needs to take on those type of challenges. Fighting Vargas is the equivalent of Mayweather fighting Berto, which all the boxing geniuses on this page crucified him for doing.
I don't see that type of criticism being levelled at Pacquaio for fighting Vargas.Comment

Refresh my memory will ya? Was their fight before or after the time oscar slid him that briefcase of money, got busted but settled to receive a percentage of his fights?
Thanks in advanceComment

I dunno what you're trying to say. Are you saying Pacquiao forced the sports number one draw to come down to welter, made himself a massive underdog on purpose and then whooped Oscars ass?
Anyway, all of that is irrelevant to this thread.Comment

Crawford didn't want the fight because he said he didn't. The weight is an excuse but that demand makes the fight highly unlikely right off the get go. You don't make demands to the biggest name in the sport.I don't understand how you equate Crawford saying that he would fight Pacquiao at 140 with Crawford refusing to fight him, especially when Pacquiao's team has been the one shooting out quotes about how easily Pac can make 140 and saying it's his best weight.

Secondly, as you said, it's his team mouthing off. His team are not Pacquiaos official, legally binding spokes people. They can say what they want. Roach can say he believes Pacquiao can make 140, that doesn't mean Pac can make the weight or is willing to make the weight.
The only way this gets labeled as a duck (and that's the central argument you and motorcity***** dont understand is) is if Pacquiao himself had said he would fight at 140 next and then backed out of a Crawford fight. The man hasn't made that particular weight in almost a decade and now he is supposed to be ducking a guy at that weight? That's crazy.Comment

I don't think I ever said he was ducking....I'm not sure that I would use that exact classification, but I think you're doing the same exact thing that you are accusing Motorcity and me of doing.
Crawford never said he would not fight him, but you are assuming that his mention of only being willing to fight him at 140 means that, though we haven't heard a word yet from Pac about whether he is willing to go to 140 or not. I could see you assuming this statement on weight equates to him not wanting to fight Pac if it were deemed impossible for Pac to make the weight, but with his team throwing that out there in multiple quotes, I don't think you can take that stance.
Also, to the point, Crawford sent out that tweet talking about ducking. If that was about Pac, which it seems that it was, obviously that would lead one to believe he is willing to fight him.
Just my 2 cents.Comment

No, you really don't know what I'm asking here? oscar did something that got him busted in the courts. He, a part time fighter, ended up getting a percentage of mannys fights. You, sir, are acting criminally dumb to that. That's cool, you can play it how you want.
I sgall ask you again. Was their fight before or after the time oscar slid him that briefcase of money, got busted but settled to receive a percentage of his fights? Since you know, oscar ana gods motivation, according to you, was due to manny being a p4p fighter and all.Comment

I can take that stance on the basis of Pacs response, which is to carry on fighting at 147 for now.I don't think I ever said he was ducking....I'm not sure that I would use that exact classification, but I think you're doing the same exact thing that you are accusing Motorcity and me of doing.

And fair enough, you didn't label it as ducking. Is Crawford ducking? That's a different question because he has no right to act like a diva, heck at least Mayweather had made some serious in roads n the sport when he started to act like a *****.
Fact is, Crawford put in a stipulation, long before negotiations had begun and that hinders discussion between the 2 groups straight away. So theres really no question of Pac avoiding a fighter in this scenario.Comment
