Yep, he went back down to LW, yet he was talking about how I'm a casual. These floyd nuthuggers are very hypocritical.

So what's the difference between an unproven guy moving up in weight to fight a 160 pounder, and a proven guy moving up in weight to fight a proven guy? What's the big deal?
Duran beat Davey Moore to win the WBC Super Welterweight in the fight before he met Hagler. Actually, Duran fought seven fights at SWW before he met Hagler.

The size comparisons aren't even close. As for skill, Brook isn't even close to Duran.

You're right the size comparisons aren't even close, Brook is clearly MUCH bigger than Duran. Duran was just so great that he was successful in those weight classes. Brook started his career at 147, and he's a MASSIVE welter, he's really a JMW.

You say the skill isn't even close, so what do you think about the skill difference between Hagler and GGG, or Floyd and GGG?

Everybody always knew Floyd was ten times the fighter Marquez was. No one was surprised he won the fight so it's not a fight alot of people put stock into.

I forgot they even fought because they are on different levels.

Marquez is slow, and needs you to come to him. That's why he's taking so many Ls to pure boxers. Even Bradley outboxed him FFS.

So no, I don't give Floyd that much credit for winning a fight I knew he'd win.

Good, you're not a hypocrite then. Floyd deserves just as much hate for bringing marquez up and even cheating him on the scales. I'm not trying to excuse this fight, it's obviously a small jmw, vs a small MW, and there are weight classes for a reason. I dont give Brook much of a chance, but I just find it odd how the floyd fanatics always bring up JMM as one of his best wins, yet they're not willing to give Golovkin an ounce of credit for beating brook.

Yeah, that was spineless of Floyd stealing the only hope of Marquez winking that fight. With a lucky punch. But Floyd made sure he had the advantage on that as well, per usual.
Just like his glove deals, fighting in his own backyard, etc. We all know his shams. He's been on everyone's **** list.

I guess we should enter into the debate that you're glossing over the fact that Mayweather chose a future HOF to knock the ring rust off after almost two years of retirement. GGG chose Brook as the first big test of his career. Let me emphasize the operative part of that statement...First Big Test!

So GGG's first big test is against an unproven fighter. A fighter who given a couple of years, could prove to be another Joel Julio.

GGG didn't choose Brook. Eubank didn't sign by the deadline, so hearn offered Brook as an alternative. You might wnat to get your facts straight. He was obligated to fight for HBO by sept, what did you want him to do? Would you rather see him fight Tureano Johnson or someone like that for pennies?

You say it would be his first "big test", whose fault is that? Literally no one will fight this guy, Danny Jacobs is terrified of him, and so was Quillin and unlike Rigo, his opponents actually get a good payday.

I still think we're in the dark about how good GGG is. From a skill stand point, I'd probably rate Hagler and GGG about the same. Hagler would get the edge for his switchhitting ability.

We all know that GGG has an amazing chin, and outstanding power. We're all still in the dark though because he's never taken a serious challenge. Until then, we don't know how deep this man can dig.

Tyson was on top of the world once to, and when forced to dig deep his mental shovel broke every time.
