I can agree with that. However I'm glad they did, it opens the door to the fight getting made. DeGale/Golovkin is my top choice, if they're both on record saying they want it and now we see the economics can be worked out for the fight, let's get it made next.

If I'm not mistaken all Loeffler said originally was that if Hearn offered DeGale they would have taken that deal at 168. I don't think you should read too much into this exchange with a known troll, on twitter of all places.

Yeah. So in essence, even if DeGale was negotiating another fight they could have asked. Like they did Brook.

Brook/Vargas was dead in the water, according to Hearn, and GGG didn't come calling him. Golovkin signed to fight Eubank, remember?

Kell is going to be earning 3/4 as much for GGG than he would have got for Vargas, which was around $1 million, I read. DeGale is looking at $5 million for Badou Jack.

It'd been nice if K2 made a push to steal DeGale from the Jack fight prior to signing for the Brook fight. K2 never asked for the Brook fight, they were presented it last second and quickly agreed thinking easy money and big publicity.

            Here's Hearn's statement on Golovkin/DeGale following the DeGale/Medina fight.

From GGG and K2's perspective, this is a great fight.
This is not a good fight for GGG whichever way you slice it... he might make a few quid off of it... but the reality is within the boxing community (which is pretty much the only people who watch these days... the casuals moving in droves over to the UFC) and boxing writers circles, this fight is being seen as a joke... and GGG gains a reputation for taking on weak opponents once more. In terms of building a respectable resume and legacy - for want of a better word - this fight stinks.
Now, I am aware people have openly ducked Golovkin, but at the same time, there were better options than taking on a welterweight... and like I say, the boxing world knows that and this fight is just being viewed as a farce and overall may end up damaging Golovkin's stock...
              The fight is really indefensible.

We need not look at this solely through the perspective of Brook and Hearn to try and make this garbage acceptable.
What fight GGG give up to fight Brook?
