I don't know why I waste so much time on a fighter who I'm not even a big fan of but here's the thing; you say Alvarez has never fought at 160. That is true. He enters the ring weighing more than that. Gone are the days where weight classes mean what they used to. It used, or at least ought, to be that catchweights allowed fair fights to be made between fighters of disparate weights but nowadays they're used as a weapon to weaken an opponent outside of the ring. The truth is Alvarez and Golovkin enter the ring more or less around 170lb. Having to cut less weight is not going to harm Alvarez.

I guess it depends on whether or not you want to see fair fights or you would rather boxers continue to demand to be given an advantage because they have more instagram followers or whatever metric we use these days to determine a boxers worth.

I'm still waiting for any proof of that CW offer AFTER he dropped the belt. Canelo's spin is that vacating the title would relieve him of the pressure set by the WBC deadline as well as provide better leverage in negotiations.

Without that proof, Canelo is the leading candidate of boxing's biggest Canard of the 21st century.

1) Canelo has been demanding 155 for Golovkin (and everyone else) since BEFORE the Cotto fight

2) Loeffler publicly acknowledged that demand back in 2014, and he agreed to a CW in principle..... see my sig

3) the two sides entered into negotiation TWICE

4) the two sides were unable to agree on the weight, as proven in this very article..... you know, the article that started this very thread..... you know, the very thread that you posted on..... you clueless twat

That is such a shamefully weak argument considering the fact that Loeffler publicly refused Canelo's offer on multiple occasions. When Loeffler made the PUBLIC comment below, what did he refuse?

Also, in that article..... Loeffler admitted that Cotto/Canelo are "smaller guys"..... AND he stated that he would negotiate on the weight if Canelo vacated..... but nope...... they promised the world, and delivered nothing, yet again.

I didn't read passed you said "chasing down these guys. That's BS, but you're going to defend him no matter what. Lomachenko likely the best amateur in the sports history, and came up short in his SECOND pro fight against a dirty, fouling, overweight BUT proven, and even then almost got knocked out. Now in his 7th pro fight he's now won his 2nd title in a SECOND weight class. People bring up GayLoveKins amateur record and he's never been down, blah, blah, but it means shat. If GGG isn't a star in the sport, then why would a GGG/Canelo fight be Canelo's biggest payday? Why is the biggest payday for any 160 figher or bigger a fight against GGG?
