Did they enquire before choosing Brook? I doubt it. Did they enquire about Degale? Nope. Lara? Nope. No options though.

Not enough that I would write something lame as that, but then again I have other interests. No offer was made while negotiations were going well or choppy, they put all of their eggs in one basket. Didn't mention DeGale at all either until now.Comment

Good promoters have 2 or 3 options open just in case one falls through. I think K2 did too and Brook was one of them all along.Comment

K2 are not the lead promoter for GGG vs Brook. The lead promoter is Eddie Hearn and it was Hearn who picked Brook to replace Eubank.
How many times do you need to be told that?Comment

K2 are the promoter of Golovkin and if you think they didn't discuss a back up option (Brook) with Hearn when in negotiations with Eubank you're a moron. Brook and Vargas negotiations were delayed for this. Makes perfect sense.Comment

So what?
Eddie Hearn is still the lead promoter, not K2, and it was Hearn who picked Brook to replace Eubank.Comment

Hearn can't make Golovkin fight anyone, Golovkin isn't signed to Hearn. Golovkin chose to accept that fight. He chose not to try and get DeGale, he chose not to try and get Lara, he chose Brook. Not Hearn, Golovkin chose Brook.Comment

Nobody can make anybody fight anybody. If that's the best answer you can come up with, you might as well just give up.
Golovkin signed to fight Eubank Jnr, which most people thought was a great match-up. But Eubank wouldn't sign the contract, so Golovkin accepted Brook on the same terms.
Those are the facts. Now spin away.Comment
