It depends on who Crawford has to go up against.

Mayweather had some decent built up named opponents to leech his boring style off on, Mayweather prove that fans will answer to B.S. and they weren't out in force for the Berto fight and rightfully so they've been mugged off several times with Mayweather and with the May Vs. Pac shambles I doubt people will forget.

I don't think Crawford is hated I just think people dislike his boring style people get pissed off when they're wasting money and essentially that fight at the weekend was a robbery with how awful it was.
People complain about Wladimir Klitschko well in all honesty, this was by far worse than any boring Wladimir fight I'd liken this fight with the Fury Vs. Klitschko fight a very uneventful fight.

wanna get paid millions? then better start acting like you deserve it.
These guys put there lives on the line and cant have a little fun? hell the US govt is supposed to be professional and look at the mess its become, trash talk has always been the American way but its never accepted when certain others do it.... its also funny that this is only a complaint when particular fighters do it, But when some do it, its passion and the villain/bad guy role is accepted and they are backed by America; the UFC is a great example (lesnar, rousey, chael sonnen, conner McGregor, etc were all good for business and everyone loved it) but the minute jon jones/silva showed confidence its immediately downplayed as negative. Crawford sticking out his tongue took nothing away from his win and he has class and is humble. All this picking n choosing when u want to focus on "professionalism" is tacky and played out.

Nice comparison. Never thought of that, but I see it now that you bring it up.

Also I think Crawford will get a lot of haters if he beats up an old Pacquiao (good guy), no matter what Crawford will have to embrace the bad guy role.
Maybe. I think Manny's popularity has been greatly reduced in recent years is the thing. Between the KO L to Marquez, the L to Floyd & the gay comments & other random things along those lines I don't think he's seen as quite the good guy or hero he once was. I mean its there, but its not like it used to be so idk how much of a bad guy role TC will be taking.

Hell I'm still not entirely sold Manny will be fighting again at all, let alone fighting TC too btw so we'll see on all that I guess.

people should be happy, we have GGG the Ko artist and then U have TC with the skills who outclasses his opponents.

Casual fans unfortunately make up the bulk of ppv fight buying.

Of course people will hate him if he keeps on winning. People seem to naturally go out of their way to hate successful people (even when those people don't act like d1cks).

I agree with my boy Red Foxx's comment earlier referencing the WWE. I think all of us boxing fans have a lil Macho Man Randy Savage fanatic in us whether you were a hater or not. TC will have to embrace a certain role at times, I dont see him burning money or anything like that but I do see him being a "tuff guy" so to speak. I think if he beats up an old Pacquiao, maybe he will be looked at as a bully to some and a bad ass to others.
Well Andre Ward is a very humble guy, but his problem is that he has zero personality. He is a nice guy but he has no personality. Plus I think his "son of God" nickname and his super Christian lifestyle brings out his nonpersonality.

People want someone they can relate to and Andre Ward doesn't come off as that type of guy. Hey he is a nice guy and a humble guy but thats all he is.

TC, when he enters the arena and walks to the ring, he is smiling, waving to the crowd. He talks well and is very open with his personality. He comes off as someone you'd like to hang out with and be friends with. It called being outgoing and that's what TC is and that will take him a long way with getting fans. People love him in his hometown/home state and now it's starting to expand.

Andre Ward who is a decent draw in Oakland can't sell out with arena. Floyd when he was coming up couldn't sell out Grand Rapids. Floyd went everywhere when he was coming up and never sold out. So TC has a leg up on those guys at this point in his career. TC just needs to keep winning, stay personable, have a great attitude about things and be friendly to everyone and that will lead to great things for him.

People wanted to see Floyd lose much more because of his mouth than his skills. So unless TC starts talking a world of sh.t, then I don't agree

That involved taking a villain role which is a highly underserved market in boxing.

Randomly some of these knuckleheads could take home massive bank. If only they opened themselves up to quit that poor kid who worked his way up to pro boxer bs story that is boring & oversold & what they are trying to make TC's story be unsurprisingly. I'm talking to you Kovalev. Every boxer wants to be Mr. Cardboard Cutout doe.

Probably not, but he can definitely move to higher ground then he's at.

TC is gonna be fine either way at this point I think. If he's stuck on HBO making $2M per fight from here out thats hardly bad shape & thats probably his worst case situation if this did 42k PPV's.
He was the best fighter in the sport IMO but wasn't near as popular as ODH or Gatti, guys who were inferior to him. I agree with what he would've sold and that is why he needed a gimmick IMO.

I think America needs another great prize fighter to replace Floyd. TC could be that, I just do not think he will take it to the level of a floyd/odh/tyson. Yes he will be ok but I don't want to see another "GGG model"-easy wins and maybe 1 huge fight.
