~Canelo vacates the WBC title.
~Canelo goes to court.
~Canelo & GGG's teams return to negotiations.
~Canelo's team announces Liam Smith.
~GGG's team pursues the next best option, Saunders, who says no.
~GGG's team pursue the next best option, Eubank Jr.
~HBO sets a hard date of Sept 10 in London at the O2 Arena when the GGG/Eubank bout seemed all but assured.
~Hearn tells Loeffler that Eubank Jr is probably not going to sign & asks if they would like Kell Brook in London. Gets approval.
~GGG/Brook fight is announced.

Now, looking at that timeline, how much space is in there for Lara? Canelo held GGG's team on hold for weeks. Then the Eubanks did the same thing in a less than honorable manner. And as a long shot, Hearn offered the Eubank contract to Brook, who signed. GGG's viable options weren't there. Eubank Jr. would have been a nice bout the boxing fans could get behind. But Eubank ducked, just like every other 160 fighter before him. Even though GGG/Brook is a mismatch, as a boxing fan I understand why it's come to this. In a sense, one could say that K2 is trying to force GGG into the UK market because there are a few British boxers they would like to take. By breaking into that market now, they can improve their brand & their chances of securing other quality British boxers. Yes, boxing politics sucks. But let's not beat a dead horse. Let's take Errol Spence as an example. Errol Spence could go on a social media campaign to shame Brook into fighting him...or he can do it the normal way: become his mandatory. I think Spence chose right.

Canelo fought for 3 years at Caneloweight, which is middleweight. He drains that extra 5 lbs for no reason other than to enjoy a size advantage. He hasn't fought at 154 for 3 years. A boxing fan should not believe he's an actual jrMW until he makes weight. Until then, he's a middleweight trying to parade around like he's smaller. And you know, making weight isn't the last condition for Canelo to prove he's a jrMW...he also needs to not only lose to Liam Smith, but look good beating him. If Canelo looks drained or sub-par in any way, then it's more evidence that he doesn't belong in that division.

Which B-side can send an A-side a contract? That's an easy question. Any B-side. Just because you're the B-side, that doesn't mean you can't try to aggressively make a fight. Usually though, with ppv-draw A-sides, you sit down & hammer out a contract, rather than drawing one up & asking the other side what you think. Active negotiation is the preferred route for those boxing stars. Send a contract or aggressively pursue. Don't say that no B-side does that because it's been done.

And you're full of it whenever you bring up Lara. Lara wanted to make the fight in may?...dude, Canelo put GGG on hold in May so he could go do that court settlement. Then GBP & K2 went back to the negotiating table. Lara never had a shot at getting a GGG fight when Canelo was ahead of him...well, most fighters are ahead of Lara if we're talking money...but also in pecking order or priority for GGG, Lara is the last boxer on their mind because there isn't much to gain from fighting him (what, prove the doubters wrong? The doubters would doubt anyway). I want GGG to fight Lara just to show that Lara isn't on his level. But Canelo came first. And when that fell through, & Saunders didn't want to sign on, they pursued a lucrative opportunity in the UK against Eubank Jr.

You're making it sound like GGG's team cherry-picked Kell Brook. The problem with this stance is that in order for a boxer to cherry pick, they need to have options to cherry pick from.
