I doubt HBO would make this fight again. Even if Canelo wants it. Too many roadblocks. Waste of time discussing this.

Canelo won that fight. It was close, but he won it. Lara should focus on fighting other guys in that division. For a supposed "loaded division" nobody's doing squat. Nobody's fighting anybody, it's the early 2000s all over again with De La Hoya, everyone's taking easy fights in hopes of landing that one big payday.

this is prize fighting. Fans booed Lara all night long. Fans who paid money for the PPV were upset. Even fans who were rooting against Canelo were upset after the fight vowing to never watch Lara fight again. There is NO PUBLIC demand for the rematch not because the fight wasn't close but because it was horrible to watch thanks to Lara. There is no way you are going to get fans to pay to see that again.

Got people complaining about Smith but fans would much rather watch smith who while not a proven great fighter doesn't have a reputation of stinking up the joint like Lara. Sure Smith is a unknown but there is at least potential for action. Rather then watch a known runner who makes boring fights and you know how the fight will go. Lara running for 12 rounds to a chorus of boos afraid to engage because he don't want to get knocked out. Lara blew his shot and won't get another.
