When did GGG ever tell Ward to come to 160 or no fight? Someone suggested 164 which was halfway between where they were. Now 168 is halfway between where they are.

A-side is all about financials anyway. Even if Ward beats Kovalev, GGG will still be the bigger money fighter, so he makes the demands. That's how it works right Flom0s?

Ward at 168 is a great fight. GGG isn't a big MW but I can see him making SMW. He may well not beat Ward but it is a decently matched fight.

Ward at 175 looks very tough for GGG. GGG just isn't that big a guy but Ward has been bumping above 168 for years - he's got the frame for it. I'm not saying this fight won't happen because if things go well for them both it will be a huge money fight, but I don't see it as a decently matched fight.

Floyd money yes, Golovkin money is crumbs. Not a star.

For Ward GGG to happen Ward is going to have to revitalize his career. The Kovalev fight is a fantastic opportunity to reestablish himself at the top of the sport. None of us know how that is going to go but it is going to be a huge influence on Ward's stock and ability to negotiate anything. If Ward does win and as importantly if he wins explosively so the fans are entertained GGG keeps winning in entertaining fashion they will clearly be the biggest match in boxing. At some point the $ will be so huge that they'll figure something out. I strongly suspect it won't be at 175 but the money will be irresistible.

I'm not even sure Ward can make 168 anymore. I think it would have to be at 175. Unless the fight become so big that the money was to hard refuse and he'd drop a few pounds to do it. I'm not sure the fight will ever be that big. In the boxing world it would be. But the casual market is the ones that bring huge money and really neither GGG or Ward cross over into that.

Anyway, I'm a GGG fan but if he's willing to bring up a WW 2 divisions, then he should have no qualms about being on the other side and going up 2 himself. It's only fair.

When Ward beats Kovalev, he will become the P4P #1 fighter in the world!

Head to head, I would pick Kell Brook to beat and likely stop Alexander Brand in a 12 round fight set at the SMW limit.

I don't think you understood the question. Obviously GGG is not as big a star as Floyd, but we're not talking about him fighting Floyd. The fight we're talking about is GGG-Ward. So in that fight, GGG is the A-side, right?

It's like how GGG haters say GGG should have accepted a 90-10 split, and a catch weight, against Canelo, because "Canelo is the A-side and he calls the shots."

But... Canelo isn't as big a star as Floyd, either. So that doesn't matter. What the Flom0s say matters is who is the bigger star in a given fight. Canelo is a bigger star than GGG, so he gets to call the shots. GGG is a bigger star than Ward, so he gets to call the shots. Right????

Now they know Ward is at 175 they think it's safe to start mentioning him again. Fans should demand Lil G does what Brook has and move up 2 divisions.

                      Fight night weights.
                      Brook - 156
                      Golovkin - 173
                      Ward - 186

Golovkin is closer in weight to Ward than he is to Brook.
