This is not a World title fight, just a fight between a rated heavyweight and a trial horse.

is a terrible challenger but there have been worse. Charles martin springs to mind recently, some of wladimers opponents i have no idea where he found them from. Think when fraudley harrison fought haye that was for a world title though i might be wrong.

You only have to go through Wlads resume to see worse.

                Leapai
                Pianeta
                Mormeck

All of Wladimir's world title opponents were at least ranked by one or more sanctioning organization at the time he chose them.

At least 10 of Wladimir's were in the ring top ten.

Arreola was not ranked by any organization when his fight with Wilder was announced.

Interesting that some of the same people who are defending Wilder for fighting 2016 badly faded Arreola, are the same people who discredited Vitali's win in 2009 over a prime, undefeated Arreola!

At the time he fought Wlad, Leapai (who became Wladimir's WBO mandatory after beating Boytsov) would beat the current version of Arreola.

Pianeta was undefeated and at least was ranked in the top ten by the WBA and in the top 15 of the IBF.

Mormeck was admittedly a bad choice, but at that time he was a bit better than the current faded Arreola. He at least had wins over a couple of fringe contenders in his previous two fights and was ranked by a couple of sanctioning organizations. He was a former unified world champion at cruiserweight.

yeah no doubt about it, arreola is a fat washed up bum. But do think some of wlads defences were worse.
