Arreola has been on a real killing spree since getting stopped by Stiverne

There have been worse but this one is pretty bad.

I remember Jean Marc Mormeck and Alex Leapai fighting for the title recently.

Arreola would wipe those two out on the same night within 6 rounds.

Yeah, he's one of the worst in recent memory, even taking into account some of the jokers Wlad and Vitali fought in their time.

The thing which makes current Arreola (which I think a lot of people aren't taking into account) so terrible is the unique combination of factors coming into play here.

          - Arreola has no clear wins in his last five fights.

          - he has no wins over any top fighters in his last five fights

          - he was unranked by the WBC at the time the fight was announced

          - he just failed a drug test.

          - he is coming off a long layoff and has had no time to train

          - he got his ass beat twice by Bermane Stiverne and has looked like hot garbage since

Even idiots like Leapai earned their shot by beating ranked fighters, and were at least coming off wins at the time they fought for the title. Arreola ticks none of the boxes. Unranked, shot, coming off a long layoff, no good wins in years.

Head to head Arreola would likely get beat by the majority of names people are throwing out. When you're struggling to beat the likes of Curtis Harper and getting dropped by Travis Kauffman then you have no benefit of the doubt in this category.

Martin beat Glazkov for the title, so I'm not sure how he qualifies. Not that Glazkov was all that, but he was a ranked top ten fighter at the time he fought, and better than anyone that Arreola ever beat in his entire career.

Chris Arreola right at the tail end of his career, its up there for sure but the thing is would anybody honestly be that shocked if he planked Wilder?

Would be a huge upset. Arreola isn't the same fighter he was 5 or more years ago.

Fat, faded, no longer has a strong chin, slower, weaker. Struggled (arguably LOST) against a clubfighter recently. Tested positive for banned substance.

Why didn't Deontay Wilder find someone better, even if it meant waiting another couple of weeks until someone decent is ready?
                  Really? I can.

A shot, former light heavyweight and cruiserweight inactive, mostly retired Jean Marc Mormeck for one.

A never was Ed Mahone for another.

Wilder had someone better, but that someone better tested positive for steroids because they are a dirty drug cheat whose entire career is now tainted, and Arreola was the easiest fill in they could get.

I never get tired of that pic. Yeah, Harrison is probably the only one in recent memory who's comparable.
