I think the thread starts & pretty much ends open ended imo.. Stevenson is very good.. but.. (that question will always linger until he fights the man of the division)

He may be the lineal champ but lets be honest here, consensus say the man of the division is Kovalev & that he is facing the biggest threat of his career in Ward.. The winner is p4p #1, so yeah Kovalev/Ward winner is the man at 175.

Stevenson has brute power & the slickness that comes with a southpaw & a good counter puncher who can tag you good.. He is tall, rangy so stylistically he can be a threat to Kovalev but not to Ward.. Kovalev has a really good chin, Ward has a decent chin so he an get a knockdown in a fight with Ward but doubtful with Kovalev.. IMO, both Kovalev & Ward would beat him by UD(late KO) & UD respectively..

Ward would be a nightmare for Stevenson. Adonis doesn't have enough dimensions to his game for a technical fighter like Ward whose chin is rarely available to hit. Andre would be slipping and countering all night long.
Yeah Ward would take away his weapons away pretty easily. Stevenson's best shot would be to start fast like he did with Dawson and try to catch Ward cold.

Yeah that makes real sense.. Chilemba did a little better against Kovalev than Hopkins hence Hopkins was shot to ****! Bradley did better against JMM than Pac hence Pac was shot to ****! Oh wait he beat Bradley! And so would Hopkins if he fought Chilemba! The evidence that Hopkins was shot at that point is NOT supported by his resume! Wiped the floor with Cloud, Pascal & Murat. There was no MARKED decline at the time of going into the Kovalev fight he was just a rare & canny old veteran able to beat MOST of the LHW's still! Archie Moore mark II! He doesn't think Kovalev is just lucky to capitalize! He rates him highly & has a rosta of great fighters to compare him to! He said he's very special! His word counts..

its intriguing because all it takes is one shot and neither guy has been in with someone with the speed, power and explosiveness of adonis....he has that snap to his shots

AND THAT FACE OFF WITH KOVALEV AFTER THE PASCAL FIGHT WAS SO LAME TOO LOL

I find it funny you are not this passionate about the overmatched opponents GGG fights.....he is fighting a welterweight...joke fight

he defended against bellew too who went on to win a title, how convenient you left that out...didnt karpency

Stevenson actually won his title in the ring.....you wouldnt know anything about that....bwahahahahahaha

                  Beterbiev is p4p hardest puncher
                  beterbiev?

He is a decent fighter but literally has no head movement, lacks a jab and throws wide shots

                  He has power...woooooopeeeeeee

Every good fighter looks like tyson vs the level of opposition he fights...he fights Ward, Kov or stevenson, today, he gets wrecked

                  he has no defense

His only 'notable' is beating Chad Dawson after he was drained by Ward and left Iceman's gym. Dawson fell apart during/after Ward fight, so a win over him means absolutely nothing.
dawson asked to come down, got in the ring and lost

Stevenon wouldn't fight Hopkins. Wouldn't fight Kovalev. Wouldn't fight Pascal. You can't shave the top of your division off, fight #15 and keep saying they have to get past you because you're lineal. Lineal belts are a joke.

He landed a punch on a shot-to-**** Dawson and that's basically the legacy he's living off of.

Plus that would probably be the easiest fight of Ward's career. Stevenson has one punch in his arsenal and Ward is a guy who watches patterns and starts punishing you for them, has boxing skills several lightyears ahead of Stevenson.
dawson was not shot.....at that point he hadnt been in many grueling fights to that point outside of his early fight with Glen Johnson and Ward

a guy takes 2 or 3 losses and their shot now?
