I dont blame HBO for not buying Lara, a guy with zero fanbase, zero demand, and stinks up their airways every chance he gets. HBO is in the "content subscriber" business, they are not some not-for-profit group that exists just to satisfy 12 "but but but Lara doe" nerds on the internet..... .........

It's not just Hbo, who dislike him for his tepid performances and for choking so bad vs Canelo on ppv. The guy said all he wants is big money. Who's paying that for Lara and how?

Well maybe if HBO didn't have these slave contracts, Golovkin could have fought him on Showtime. Otherwise, I guess I can understand why they didn't want the fight.

i dont believe they could find 1 fighter out of 30 top ten guys at 154-160....he ends up fighting a welterweight.....proof is in the pudding. they could have got a reasonable opponent and offered reasonable money but they have a plan in the works...build his name and rep, maximizing $ and hype while minimizing risk to get there

Hardly anyone gets the kind of money Lara wants on Showtime either. Even his promoter doesn't much like him, he's not matching him with any of the more marketable guys

Granted nobody in his division is willing to fight him, but accepting a challenge for a WW is just weak! Why not go for a big 154lber or fight a decent fighter at 168.

Yeah, Im sure it never crossed their minds.

So how about you make us a list of all the guys who fit that criteria, that would be ready, willing and able to fight GGG?

Hasn't Lara been screaming out GGG's name? Although this will be a fight that consist of GGG having to chase Lara around the ring for 12 rounds, I'd still be able to justify it more than him fighting Brook

Look, I'm a huge GGG fan but I can not condone him fighting a ww.

jesus christ another lara mention? even dibella admits its a non-starter due to the network issues, i.e HBO wont approve Lara.

                    ok 1 down.

                    next name?

Still wondering why Golovkin didn't just move up, or meet Brook at 154 (something that his team insists is not a problem).
