Floyd and Manny were not maxed out at LW. Doesn't mean Golovkin shouldn't move up though. Personally I don't give a **** ass, if he chooses to stay at 160 for the remainder of his career, it's his life to do with as he chooses - but I'm rapidly losing interest in watching him fight guys I already know he's gonna beat before the ink's even dry.

Golovkin's a hell of a fighter - could be exceptional in my estimation - but I've been saying since the Murray fight that there's no significant challenges left at MW. Sure I can understand the unification shizzle and waiting on a big name fight, but as a fan of the sport foremost I want to see competitive fights and I also want to see just how good Golovkin could be.

That said 'every fight is stacked his way'? What does that even mean? As long as he's fighting MWs at MW it's not 'stacked his way' he's just a lot better than anyone they've got in the ring with him. Fighting a WW though? That's a different matter.

Triple G has already claimed 160 lbs his prize!

If you were climbing Everest would you stop 200 feet short of the summit?

Whether or not he does it then let him move on!

If he is comfortable at that weight, and is a boxing weight class and always on weight, don't have any issue with that. I was a bit surprised though regarding the Kell Brook pick. Was more looking forward to a Eubank Jr fight more than Brook fight.

You think he won't get respect if he beats Degeale? He'd definitely get mine. Even Badoa Jack has improved a lot over the last 18 months or so.

He's a natural mw. He could start at lower divisions, but would end up at MW.

The guys from 168 are higher and have significantly better reach. That's one of the reasons Froch doesn't fight him. He's too small for smw..

Lol! That's why HBO hasn't turned on him yet. I doubt they will.

So basically, there is no good reason that he shouldn't move up? That's what I'm gathering from all of the comments.

This is one of the reasons why people are losing interest in this sport. Fans are focused on one, two fighters. The focus is so intense it's bordering on lunacy.

Don't really care about Golovkin whether he wants to move up or down. He's not the only fighter in the sport. Most fighters usually move up when they can no longer make the weight.

Who is ready to fight @168?

Why are you guys so desperate and obsessed with GGG? He is doing exactly what other great MW in the past did, Monzon, Hagler, Hopkins.

Because he is unifying the MW division and has one belt left to collect? When you are 3/4 you suddenly dont leave that weightclass, when you can make history. Specially when there is nobody at 168 worth going up for. IF there was a huge name he would do it, but there is nobody.

He is also close to break BHops record of MW championship defenses.
