If I'm not mistaken, Golovkin not wanting to face Sergio in 2012 is before Sergio ignoring Golovkin in 2013 and 2014. Furthermore, Golovkin won his first title in 2010 and I'm pretty sure beating Sergio in 2012 would have put him on the map, however his team wasn't ready to take that risk.

Don't believe me....Mike Woods, Golovkin, ESPN, March 2012......Google it.
could you please give us the source of that information?

Hilarious!! So you believe Golovkin's path to stardom would have been faster by chasing Felix Strum, Daniel Geale ,Dmitri Pirog while actually fighting Fuchigami, Proksa and Rosado than by getting in the ring and beating then #3/4 P4P and Lineal/RING Middleweight Champion Sergio Martinez??

C'mon now. No extremely confident promoter is going to say we'll get the P4P, Lineal/RING Champion later because we want to increase our popularity by fighting on HBO After Dark against Gabe Rosado.

Michael Woods, ESPN article, March 2012.....

Tom Loeffler, who helps run the Klitschko brothers' promotional company, told me that K2 wants to do Golovkin-Martinez, but down the line a bit. First, the company would like to whet the U.S. fans' appetites by showcasing Golovkin on HBO. That could happen in November, Loeffler said.

I respect Golovkin as a boxer but some of these "fanboys" want to criticize Canelo and other boxers while ignoring the fact that Golovkin won his full WBA Middleweight title in 2010 after beating 14-2-1 Nilson Julio Tapia. That's right, 14-2-1.

And now Golovkin is fighting a Welterweight...........Yes Golovkin has earned some criticism to go along with the praise.

Never mentioned the word "duck". Simply saying they knew he wasn't ready for Sergio yet. Duck is what fans say now but the reality is that good promoters and managers do not rush their boxers into fights until they are ready and hopefully when the time is right. However, the same way younger boxers like Canelo and Saunders, etc no they can prolong a Golovkin match for more build-up and because of Golovkin's age, is the exact same way Golovkin's team were willing to wait on Martinez.

So Golovkin and his trainer can say "anyone at 154, 160 and 168" and in the same interview say "not right now" to the best in the division, and your defense of that is that they shouldn't reply "right now" when asked? Is this the same Golovkin that supposedly is calling out every Middleweight on the planet but then gets upset when Canelo, Saunders and Jacobs say "not right now"??
