Pacquiao started boxing in 1995 and a decade later in 2005, he had already moved up and won titles in 3 divisions as well as having his one PPV that sold 350,000. That equals 2 more divisons, 2 more divison titles and 200,000 more PPV's than Golovkin's 10 yr career.

      When will Triple G?
Like I said Manny Pacquiao skyrocket into PPV star status when he went through all the Mexican fighter of his era. And with his fight with Oscar dela Hoya, the meal ticket, he became a household name.

So Golovkin has to fight his meal ticket, Canelo. And then he should "chase greatness" or "dare to be great" like what Kell is doing against him by going after Ward/Kovalev. Because we all know everyone is ducking him at 160lb. Wanting up towards 5+ million dollars to fight, when they are making 500k to 1.5mil themselves.

How many of those tickets were given away? Plus that is Brook's home. Not many people in London give a crap about Brook. GGG is the A side, there is no headline event in London for Kell without GGG.
Brook v Vargas doesn't sell out the 02.

GGG gets millions of views on HBO and sells out coast to coast. Pretty sure he doesn't need PPV to convince people he's good. but "muh PPV" "muh weight" right? Also notice how not a single boxer you just listed is eastern European. I wonder why black and Mexican boxers have such a good time when America has such a large population of them :?
Let's keep it real. PPV is not the sole barometer of greatness but PPV stardom is most certainly associated with in ring success.

I didn't mention an Eastern European boxer because they haven't accomplished multiple division success like the boxers I mentioned. It's not a coincidence that PPV success has coincided with multiple divisional titles. There are 16 boxers that have won major titles in at least 4 divisions and none of them are Eastern European.

          Risk usually equals reward.

Newsflash. Golovkin's career has been during the DLH/Pacquiao/Mayweather era.

Manny had 9 PPV's before De La Hoya and went from Lightweight to Welterweight in 9 months to get to that De La Hoya payday and stardom. On the flipside, Golovkin wants the Canelo payday and fame but isn't willing to lose 4 pounds to get it. He wants the benefits of the big money fights but isn't willing to sacrifice to get it. At 34 yrs old, he isn't in any position to dictate terms to the A side boxer that happens to be 7 years younger.

Golovkin's team was asked about facing Sergio Martinez in 2012, and they said "not yet". That was a mistake then and now they are reaping what they sowed.

I like Rig. a LOT but you are 100% RIGHT! He stunk the joint up when he fought on CanYellow's PPV undercard. There was BOO's EVERYWHERE. And Vegas has a BIG Cubano Community!

It's not his skill. it's that he's fighting C/D class fighters and treating them like he's fighting FREAKING Heavy Weights! He should EASILY be steam rolling through them but instead fights them like they're just as good if not BETTER than him.

It's too bad Canelo vacated WBC 160lb belt to avoid Golovkin. That fight would put him on the map. Now he should just focus on building his brand.

And by the way Sergio Martinez avoided Golovkin when he started making a name for himself in middle weight.

Canelo is still the Lineal and RING Middleweight Champion. Let me know when he loses those titles or has even been the Lineal and RING champion for a substantial amount of time before we start talking avoiding someone.

If I'm not mistaken, Golovkin not wanting to face Sergio in 2012 is before Sergio ignoring Golovkin in 2013 and 2014. Furthermore, Golovkin won his first title in 2010 and I'm pretty sure beating Sergio in 2012 would have put him on the map, however his team wasn't ready to take that risk.

Don't believe me....Mike Woods, Golovkin, ESPN, March 2012......Google it.
