When I've said that "Kov has never fought anyone on Ward's level" I got people spamming my PM box with hate letters. lol
    The hate is real.
Children. If a person can't argue their point without just jumping to that, they need to go back to play in the sandbox. I've gotten into it in PM before, but that's after going rounds and rounds arguing points...usually the same points. Those days are over. Like Ward, I just get in and get out now! 😉

      He he.

I never even read those PMs. I only check them if it's someone I have a good-natured banter with (like Maxi), friends, or people asking boxing advice and such. Ripping someone in PM takes all the joy out bickering. I prefer to give them a public execution.

Even in threads, I've gone to limiting the number of times I respond to arguments to about 3. If they want to pretend I've "been owned", good. Gives them some type of victory in their lives. I just can't dedicate too much of my time to people like that.

BoxingScene is my version of a smoke-break, or something to do if my wife insists I watch a boring tv show w/ her.

Ward is intelligent not to underestimate Kov

See, I understand that society creates extremely judgmental demands, but boxing is the epitome of that. Ward is simply explaining that because Kovalev convincingly won on points, got hit, he's suddenly 'tailor-made' for an elite boxer....we all know that's bull****.

Kovalev is a world class boxer who just beat a world class boxer in Isaac Chilemba. Chilemba is the kinda guy who has never been beaten convincingly by anybody (not Tony Bellew, current WBC Cruiserweight champ, not Eleider Alvarez, former Olympian and no.1 WBC mandatory). Kovalev is the only fighter to really thump Chilemba where he nearly stopped him in the 7th, 8th and 12th round. Nobody Chilemba has fought really had him in major trouble like that.

Also people forget that Ward has had his share of tough fights, it's not like he's not lost some rounds. He got his licks against Boone, Kessler, Froch, even Barrera in his last fight. Ward understands this is boxing, so pay attention CASUAL FANS, 'you're gonna get hit' no matter what. This is boxing, so if Kov lost a few rounds, and dominate the rest of the fight, why give him the flack?

Also, think about this - Kov has more media committments, fighting in his hometown, returning to the arena where he encountered the tragic death of Roman Simakov, different training regiments, being sick with the flu - All of this probably factored into his so-called 'off-night'. Then he still went out there and busted up a top 10 contender. End of story.

Let's wait on Ward-Brand. Kov and Ward has the same quote. Focus on your opponent - this is Boxing, don't make predictions cause it only takes one punch.

We saw this with Fonfara- Smith jr. last month.

wards boxing IQ is above and beyond kovalev. he will dissect kovalev and put on a boxing clinic. one punch from kovalev can change any fight, but against ward good luck landing anything clean.

Ward is a victim of the age of social media where every day there is someone or some new phenomenon that makes us forget about the greatness of last week. I think msat Ward doubters forget that this man has convincingly beat; Mikkel Kessler, Karl Froch, Allan Green, Sakio Bika Chad Dawson and Arthur Abraham, all when they were Prime or not far from it. Most of them were heavy handed and 5 of them are former world champions.

Although looking great against his opponents, Kovalevs most reputable wins were a past prime Jean Pascal twice and a very very past prime but crafty Bernard Hopkins. A pillow fisted Nathan Cleverly does not count as elite. Ward has been tested much more and has had the stiffer competition. Many of you will be eating your words when this fight goes down.

Respectful response. You can tell that Ward is a competitor at heart.

Kovalev had a much easier time with Chilemba than Ward had with Bika.

Ward will handsomely get passed the Brand dude (at 120-118 or some sort of a stoppage).
... and all will be fine -- this in case he doesn't get injured during this camp or during the fight or during the next camp or he doesn't encounter promotional issues with RN or in case he decides to tell Kovalev "you don't get rich on us", a.s.o.
