to help make the fight between a career junior middleweight (having fought at 154/155 since the age of 19) and a career middleweight (having fought at 165 for his last 2 years as an amateur and since the age of 21, before continuing on for his entire pro career at 160lbs).

Alvarez isn't yet a middleweight, he and his camp having made that clear in their statements and actions, yet he's not afraid of fighting Golovkin.

If Golovkin and his camp were so gun-ho about "anyone 154-168", why not fight Alvarez at 155?

Risks are evaluated in the present, not hindsight you dumb f**k. Undefeated Trout, Mayweather fight on the line, Ca$hnelo fought him. Building back up after the loss to Mayweather Ca$hnelo fought the bogeyman Lara in his second fight after his first loss. Relative to his age, virtually every fight of Ca$hnelo's has been a risk.
