Thanks for that link! If Kell Brook wanted to fight @ 157, and GGG said "he's too small, it's just trash talk, etc." then how do they justify fighting him @ 160???

    • i somewhat agree but at same time theres no rule that ggg cant go look for someone at a higher weight class when he cant find someone instead of looking for someone at 147 i mean lets get real here loughler comparable or not its still bs. its amusing how loughler is able to get ggg fans to spew his one liners

Can you blame him for changing his mind?? He has learned in boxing it's all about NAMES. How many times do you hear "who has he fought". Khan's been saying that about brook forever. Eubank punked out so Brook is a decent name that actually will fight GGG. I'd rather have Canelo v GGG or Saunders but whatever. It's boxing......

Get on your knees and admit that GGG is Canelo's daddy... right now.. .before I smack you back over that fence you came across..

like you said brook is no more than a decent name, the guy was begging khan for a fight and has only one good win(porter) which isnt even that big... if fighting brook is all about the name for ggg, that means the rest of the names on his resume are even worst...
wade and monroe are mismatches, but this is a joke, just like canelo-khan was..

            • right, do not compare, khan had 5 months to go up 8lbs, brook has 2 months to go up 13lbs...

Here's a name: ERISLANDY LARA. Compare Lara's opponents with Brook's opponents then tell me which "name" would bring more credibility to GGG's resume. Is it the guy that fought Paul Willams, Martirosyan, Angulo, and Canelo at SWW, or the guy that fought Shawn Porter, Jo Jo Dan, Frankie Gavin, and Kevin Bizier at WW???

no he didn't its on record brook wanting the fight at 157 and ggg said that brook is too small.
Eddie Hearn talked about Brook vs GGG at 157 about 4 months ago, but for the fight that was just made, no catchweight was asked for by Brook.

And it was Eddie Hearn who made this fight, not K2. Golovkin had agreed terms for Eubank Jnr, and after the Eubanks talked themselves out of the fight, Hearn offered GGG the fight with Brook instead, on exactly the same terms, and Golovkin accepted it.

                    • Fans and GGG's manager saying it isn't at or near the same is kinda out there I would say. Again, bottom line, look at the lists below, then tell us you see no other better choices. Money wise, yes, Brook is at the top. So I don't blame either fighter for that aspect of it. But challenge wise... GGG can no longer say he wants the best. He just wants a big pile of cash. Ironic though, since all he had to do was meet Canelo's demand at 155 and they'd have both gotten at or near the biggest paycheck in their respective careers.

But, again, tell me GGG didn't have more choices:

                      GGG champ unless noted otherwise.
