Well that's what I meant. He went down 2 weight classes into the welterweight division to drag a guy up, instead of moving up to 168 or even staying at 160 to fight a top 20 guy or something.

Ward would have beaten GGG at 168lbs but GGG wanted 164lbs catch. Boxing is a survival sport with a strategy to make big money and win in that order. Cash is King of the ring as titles mean nothing. 2) the fact that Golovkin has had a similar excuse for every potential top opponent, and to date has fought NONE of them

I heard that Canelo wanted a fight day weigh in at 156lbs with GGG and then a weight clause for the fight not over a certain limit. Canelo has enough at 160lbs to stay active but will make no big money. Canelo can make more money without GGG. GGG as a communist in the USA isn't going to make much money.
