I don't think there's any way to justify this fight. You have to try really hard to find any upside that benefits the fans. As a fan, there's simply no way to say it's is a good or acceptable fight. Golovkin is doing what's best for Golovkin. Thing is, many of his fans paint him as something different. He's no warrior, he chases big paydays to the same extent as many of the guys that are crapped on on here. Btw, K2 has completely squandered Golovkin's prime up until this fight. They haven't been able to draw one big fight for the guy. It's laugave how futile Loffler is when it comes to getting Golovkin fights that actually mean a damn.

I don't think I'll say amy more about this subject, but I'll add this to the long list of fights I won't waste time with.

      THAT was the best option.

This whole "they had no choice" thing... Considering the tremendous backlash they're getting over this I don't consider this much of a choice either. It's OK to say, "They fked up and I don't like it".
There are no divisions above 160. Didn't you get the memo?

IMO, with GGG everything that's outside 160 is a business move. And that's what they said. We are at 160, but we would go down or up for the right (means !rich) fight.

Brook brings a lot of $$ and is bigger name than any fighter he could fight at 160 or even at 168 in September. And IMO no point in fighting no champions at 168 (if it is not a huge name like Chavez, etc..)

It sucks, but it is what it is. He still fights 3 times per year, so I am good.

Brook is actually a nice little fight. I would much prefer Eubank much more, but well.. they all do the same when it comes to backing up the words.
Once you go the bussiness man route there you can turn back , once you go that route EVERYTHING in this sport can be rationlize , the canelo fight should never happen then if you are at team Canelo , because the guys makes ton of money fighting low risk fighters while losing to GGG via KO takes away his shine , so bussiness wise they should avoid GGG and fight the 147/154 guys who are smaller and still make ton of money.
I HATE CANELO for being a ***** and not fighting because i can care less about the bussiness side of boxing ,and GGG just did the same thing so I HOPE BROOK WINS!!!! there i said it... never though i would wish to see GGG lose a fight.... hope he makes amend after this sham and start picking up the pace and fight good names or take challanges.
there are always execuses but nothing can be said to protect this fight....
its a clear missmatch , brook doesnt understand whats going to happen , he will need to reinvent himself in order to be competitive he wont have the size and strength advantage .... 2 monthes are not enough time to do it.

Wait wait wait . U forgot to mention 154 . After all Abel did say 54-68 . There's a Champ there who's been calling GGG out to no avail. A Champ who some people think Beat Canelo . A Champ who stated he would make the move to 160 , who's being casually ignored by GGG's Fans and matchmakers . That Champion my friends is "Erislandy Lara" !!!

Boxing is a business, and who says Golovkin doesn't understand money. Golovkin had been caught up in the spotlight he's not the same honest or humble boxer he used to be. Blame that on Abel or Loeffler, but money talks.

Here's a video example for you to learn from.

The biggest fear from Lil'G fans is moving up, and the only thing they invest in as hope are the belts. Those belts he won all convincingly...

Does anybody actually know how much GGG is making for this fight? Because GGG fans keep saying he couldn't turn down the money for this fight. They also say Jacobs turned down the fight, which is BS because Jacobs been signed to fight Mora for months. So how could Jacobs turn it down? How many other lies will be spread in order to justify this mismatch?

How could Jacobs turn down the context of Matchroom and Hearn bouts? And why would K2 or Golovkin be interested in the WBA Regular belt?

I like GGG a lot as a fighter, but impossible to support this, especially as I've supported Brook for a lot longer.

What worries me is that Brook has a good chin, so what happens if he takes a steady, career-shortening beating, gets stopped in the late rounds, and is never the same fighter again? That's why I see fights like this and Canelo-Khan as bad for the sport. We all know these guys risk their health and sometimes take too much punishment during a great fight. But at least great fights mean something and will be forever remembered well, whereas fights like this do nothing for the sport or fans.

I rate Brook as the #1 guy at 147, would love to see him unify with Thurman, Garcia or do the Spence mandatory. Those would be great fights but if they happen now and Brook loses I'll always wonder if he just wasn't the same guy anymore.
