Based on reports the Eubank jnr was going to get £3mil for the ggg fight, and that same deal has gone to Brook im not suprised he took it, financially it was worth it, he was looking at getting just short of £1mill for Vargas and now getting 3 x as much. Not much hope for him winning, just hope he puts up a much better fight then almost all of Ggg previous opponents. Gonna be backing Special K till the end...

This Brook fight I cannot find an excuse for. There was no need for it and it stinks. This decision makes me roll my eyes.
I'm pretty much in agreement with you in this one....I still don't get it and can't see why brook would risk his unbeaten record and number one dog position in welterweight to face the Kazakh beast.....I don't feel excited about this fight one bit but we have to give brook massive respect for taking this fight.....surprised the f@ck out of me when I read it was signed

Despite these fighters getting career high pay days fighting GGG (Canelo would make more $$ against GGG than any other fighter he faces) no fighter wants to get in the ring with him. The fact that Brook/ GGG got done in 2 days, with the same $$ that was offered to Eubank says it all. Brook stepped up. As for SMWs, most are aligned with Haymon/ PBC and Zurdo just injured his hand recently so he's out. If all the other MWs had any courage, GGG would b fighting a MW right now.
K2 claims they will work with Haymon. The new guy at HBO claims he wants the best fights for his network bar none. There are SMW's and JMW's that would take that payday. Why pull up a guy from WW. I was just as critical of Khan-Canelo. Everybody knew that was about big money. GGG-Brook is not on that level money wise. Again why pull up a WW. In order for Brook to win this fight he's going to have to fight the fight a fighter dreams of. I just feel K2 is doing more harm to GGG's career long term than they're helping it because this fight is a flat out mismatch. I'm sure one of the Charlo twins or Lara would have taken this fight. I'm sure Andre or Anthony Direll would have taken this fight. There are hella fighters closer in weight to GGG that would have taken this for less money than what Brook is getting that are more popular in the US than Brook .

clown-boy, sorry to interrupt your train-of-thought regarding Brook.....

But, none of us are wondering about Brook..... we were all wondering how on earth Golovkin could select Brook after hearing all of the negative comments regarding his poor opponent selection?

Don't forget to take some time out of your busy day to give that some thought as well willya.

Wish somebody could at least say Haymon couldn't deliver Lara. Lara camp is not even doing anything other than tweet.

You say that jokingly, but I actually had some fool in another thread trying to tell me it's more legit because it's at 160, and not a catchweight.

Hearn made a genius move here..

He gets the payday of landing Golovkin in a major fight in the UK

He also raises the profile of his guy Brook, who has nothing to lose by fighting ggg

He also has built a future Eubanks-ggg fight into a bigger fight than what it would be this fall

I'm done trying to understand and/or defend GGG and his team anymore.

The Golvkin haters are actually right.

I'm just going to shut up and watch from now on.

This is not gonna be in the US, and it's not K2 footing the bill. Ggg is offered probably more than 2x his career high for a UK Ppv, same deal as Eubank. It is a mismatch but it's hard to pass on with the date 9 weeks out
