Guys hating on GGG Brook also hating on Hagler facing Duran and co?

Brook wouldn't even be able lace Duran's boots. And at least Duran won a title at 154 against a very good fighter in Davey Moore before earning his shot against Hagler. Brook has been feasting on B level fighters at 147. Duran was already a legend and future hall of famer when he fought Hagler.

I wish I could find a way to justify this fight because I love GGG, but I just can't.

So, GGG can lace Hagler's?


The people who are *****ing non stop about this fight would have *****ed about whoever GGG fought in September.

GGG tried to get the relevant middleweights and that fanny Canelo but couldn't.

Realistic options wouldve all been mid tier opponents...Brook is big for 47, talented and has some decent pop...GGG gets no credit for a win, but it's basically a stay busy opponent in a biggish fight that raises his name value.(And I expect Brook to fare well to be honest)

This fight doesn't stop any big fight from happening later. Brooks negotiations with Vargas had broken down and he has always struggled making weight. He can move back to 54 if he loses.


What fight that could be negotiated for September would've made people happy? Only fantasy fights with guys who call GGG out on twitter but their own promoters don't entertain the fight because of "TV problems"....People are forgetting the only reason this fight's happening is that Eubank went full ******.


I don't even like Golovkin but when you're out of options and no big fight can be negotiated, this is a decent stay busy fight.

Brook is nowhere near Duran level and never will. Hagler's resume wasn't great till Duran went up in weight to fight him. I'm not defending GGG but I can see the double standards.

All MWs are the same to be honest. They beat up easy comp in their weight and wait for the lower divisions to move up.
