Won't fight Canelo at 155 but admits he would fight Floyd at 154 and now brings Brook up from 147. I don't have a problem with the fight at all. I'll be supporting Brook as always.
Ok so your answer for this thread it would be a good win for GGG just as Floyds is for Marquez.

I don't really like this fight for GGG for some of the reason you stated. But GGG fighting Brook is comparable to Floyd-Marquez. GGG like Floyd is the best in the division, GGG is taking on a guys two weight classes below him just like Floyd did. And both are taking on arguablely the best fighter in said fighters weight class, as Marquez was the best lightweight at the time and Brook is the best WW.

To me its f'ing ****** that guys who are pissed at GGG for fighting Brook are the same guys who praise Floyds win over Marqurz.

Brook is one of my favorite fighter and to compare him to Marquez who was already a legend at the time is just ridiculous.

I'll agree Marquez is a legend and he is one of my favorite fighters. He started his career at what? Featherweight?

Even though I don't like this fight for GGG. At least Brook is a true Welterweight and a big one at that. GGG is not fighting some dude who is the welterweight champion that stated his career two weight classes below that.

I would absolutely give him credit for beating Brook. Brook is arguably the best in a division he is naturally big for, technically skilled, and fundamentally sound. I also don't put as much stock into weight disparity as most around here. Having boxed myself, I have sparred guys larger and smaller than me, and never let the difference affect my approach or mentality in the ring, I have always considered weight disparity negligible in the ring, except for extreme cases like a HW against a LW both shorter and with less mass. Skill trumps all. If I get hit with something big, it was my own mental lapse or mistake, opponent size / style irregardless.

Canelo fought Khan 8lbs above his weight.

Golovkin is fighting Brook 13lbs above his weight.

This is a worse fight in terms of weight difference, Brook is just better than Khan.

Brook is not a middleweight and has never been a middleweight. Most don't even consider him to be the best welterweight.

Stop trying to rationalize this lame fight.

Of course not, it's a ****ing sham. It's everything wrong with boxing these days. Golovkin had legit options all around his weight class, and he went for an unproven welterweight instead.

Dude if you've read this thread and what I've said, I've said I don't like this fight for GGG.

I was comparing this fight to Floyds fight with Marquez. And I stated Floyd fought the lightweight champion(Marquez) at the time who happened to start his career at featherweight. I also said at least Brook is a natural welterweight and a big one at that who didn't start his career two weight classes below this.

Do you think this fight is the same as Floyd fighting Marquez?

Would you prefer Brook fights MW bum first?

Leonard vs. Hagler, what's your rebuttal about this friend? #1 Welterweight vs. #1 Middleweight.
