Comments Thread For: Terry Flanagan-Dejan Zlaticanin Will Be Pursued By Warren

The Welsh boxing public know a good fighter when they see one and they have had more than a few of their own over the years. The likes of Howard Winstone and Colin Jones immediately spring to mind, along with the more recent champions such as Joe Calzaghe and Enzo Maccarinelli.

Hope so. I'd probably tab Flanagan for that one.

Yeah, we all know 'pursued' by Warren means that the fight has a 99% chance of not happening.

He seems unable to get meaningful fights for his fighters anymore.

Very dangerous fight for Flanagan, I really don't see this one happening. Not with some domestic unifications ready to go

99% of Warren articles contain a variation of 'we tried to face the best in the world but they ducked us so we're facing the 142nd best in the world'.

I've not seen Williams or Corcoran before. Are they really popular/good enough to top the bill ahead of the 2 world title fights?

Jorge Linares is the biggest name in the lightweight division and is generally regarded as number one. Crolla is the biggest name among lightweights in the UK. A win over Linares would give him more status, kudos and selling power than one over Flanagan, who looks like a good prospect but has yet to beat anyone of international note.

How can you be a prospect when you have a world title belt?

Nowadays, given the proliferation of world titles, it's possible to still be a prospect (i.e. nowhere near the world's top ten) while holding a world title. But I get what you're saying.

Because alphabet belts don't mean ****e today. That's why calling 80 percent of belt-holders "world champions" is an effing joke
