Brook is following in Ward's path. He has a good win a few years ago that everyone has forgotten about, has fought nothing but bums since, and is now moving up in weight to fight the #1 guy of that weight class who is also recognized as a top p4p fighter. What's the difference?

No, Shabranskyy just wanted the same pay $450,000 as Barrera received. Ward is paid close to $2 million for every fight.

Shabranskyy offered to fight Ward for much less in October 2015, before his win over Gonzalez which put him in the top ten at 175, but Ward also chose Brand at that time but then cancelled.

Budget aside, there are very few willing and available fighters to face Ward. That is just fact. As for Shabranskyy, he was offered the fight per Golden Boy and the Ward camp and turned it down. I was told he asked for more than double the available HBO money for the entire bout.

isn't the guy kovalev is fighting a no-hoper too? they are just tune-ups. they are each other's best opponents.

Kovalev's guy is a lot more cagey than Wards. Chilemba is tough to hit, and hasn't been stopped. Tall order for Kovalev to stop him, but if he does, it's definitely a statement.
