Chilemba is Ring #7 at light heavyweight (not 168) and he's a DECADE YOUNGER than Brand at age 29.

And the only reason Kovalev is fighting him, is because prima donna Ward feels he's not ready yet.
i thought the two agreed a while ago that they'd both have a tune up before their big fight in november?

i don't see the need to prop up the dude kovalev is fighting, let's be honest they are both no hopers who are going to take an L.

I like what Ward said about wanting it to be in Vegas (he's already put a sock in the mouth of all those whop said he wouldn't fight away from home). And, I think he was partially referring to Stepvenson when he said, "...it's not going to be easy to get them." That's a fight I've really wanted to see.
the bum kovalev is fighting is coming off a LOSS?

      wow didn't know this, interesting.

Yea, title shot after a loss. He lost to Bellew a couple years back as well, right before Bellew lost to Stevenson. People are blowing Chilemba up as a monster ONLY because he's fight Kovalev. Another major boxing site published an article; "Kovalev vs. Chilemba = Another mismatch for Sergey"
I wouldn't even bring it up if it weren't for the ridiculous double standard. If Ward were fighting Chilemba, people would be mocking him the same as with Brand and turning a blind eye for Kovalev.

As you said, they're both taking warm-ups. Disappointing but if a person criticizes one they should not excuse the other.

He ran away from Ward when offered.

Fact is he'll probably have a hard time attracting any legit opponents without a title.

Chilemba is a much tougher option at 175 than Brand.

Chilemba is a young top 10 rated LHW, Brand is a 40 year old SMW journeyman.

No, kid... Ward wanted his usual $2m tune-up payday and give Shabranskyy the hole in the donut...

A guy can be coming off a close MD loss and still be a good fighter, surely? The Alvarez fight was very close, as were both Bellew fights - most had Chilemba winning the first. Chilemba is solid and tricky and is also, probably, the best LHW that hasn't just fought, got a fight lined up or already been beaten by Kovalev. Ermm. Except Braehmer. Braehmer is theoretically available, but he ain't ever leaving the Fatherland.

Whatever , who cares , we are few monthes away from the biggest fight in boxing for me , only GGG vs Ward will be bigger (for me ....) Its a true competitive fight between 2 ELITE fighters who are best in their respective weight class , great great fight and really unexpected , the fights Ward took lately never indicated he is going after kovalve , mad respect to him!
