Then that's for the courts NOT the WBC. Moreover Povetkin is suing him which is great. I still don't get the "Justify" himself part... Justify himself to who? The courts? WBC? Like the WBC have the right to reprimand Wilder. If Povetkin didn't take a ban drug he wouldn't test positive and we would have had the fight by now. So again I don't get why intelligent posters like yourself are giving a drug cheat more backing than the guy who hasn't really done anything here.

For one I don't care about a boxer nationality or race, secondly I was firmly behind Povetkin up till when the fight was finally made, I accuse Wilder and his team of doing all they can to push the fight back, so Wilder can get more experience before he face off with Povetkin.

So I don't want anyone to come in here and read my post and think am siding with Wilder, I begging anyone to go back through my post history in regards to Povetkin and Wilder and prove me wrong.

This whole saga has throughly disappoint me. I see people on here excusing a drug cheat, someone that was taking a drug that was NOT designed for him. Again Meldonium was NOT designed for what a lot of these athlete were taking them for and them taking it whether it was legal back then or not shows me they are a drug cheat.

If People really want to back those sort of athletes then it shows the sort of people they really are. If Wilder accuse Povetkin back then, then it shows that he was right all along as Povetkin indeed end up failing a drug test.

AS soon as Wilder fights someone above a C level heavyweight, it will be over for him.

So he's in no rush to fight Povetkin or anyone else in the upper echelons of the HW division.

There's been plenty of speculation about Wilder juicing when his physique underwent rapid changes awhile back, so this is likely a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

Some of the biggest juicers are the ones who cry to the media about other people juicing.

It says in the article we discuss here that the WBC will offer Wilder and his team to present their side of things and a meeting is due to be held. This probably means they have yet to make a decision regarding the further outcome of the fight and will take what team Wilder says into their consideration. Sounds like a fair shake to me. Isn't really about excusing a fighter or not, WADA have made statements, the WBC are evaluating, etc. and we can await their call. Bottom line so far is Povetkin is in fact not a drug cheat and this is the official ruling too, regardless of popular opinion.

See this is what baffles me. If Povetkin is, in fact, not a drug cheat, then Wilder and his team can say whatever they like, Povetkin will not be banned and Wilder will still have to fight him.

The only explaination that makes sense to me is that Wilder's team are not there to discuss the medical aspects of Povetkin's tests, put the status of the purse bid and whether the whole procedure of making the fight should start again from scratch, if Povetkin is found to be clean.

Great post! 100% agree with what you said here. I am also someone that had Povetkin beating Wilder and was critical of Wilder's lack of quality opposition.

He isn't the one that used PED's. He isn't the one that tested positive. Yet somehow its his fault for all of this.

I don't buy this angle being pushed as fact, BUT if it is true the WBC should still show some balls and Wilder should be stripped of his title for canceling a fight that the WBC hadn't canceled.

If the WBC was gonna cancel the fight eventually anyway and Wilder just made the call first then it should be a whatever thing and again the WBC guy needs to be a f#cking man like his daddy used to be, right or wrong about any particular issue, and make a f#cking call with this.

Doing some Judge Judy, People's Court **** about PEDs is ridiculous. The WBC should be the ruling party and do any "investigating" that needs to be done. If Povetkin or Wilder agree or disagree with that call is their own problem.

Boxing Scene is worse for the brain than crack *******. These nutcases will make you believe the person using PEDs is an innocent victim while the other guy is a scared coward.

I think people just don't understand the reality of professional sport today, and the role pharmaceuticals play in it. To give up legal means of improving your endurance/performance/health would be to place yourself in a disadvantaged position voluntarily.
