Will he? Because last I heard coWard was fighting some guy who happens to own a mouthpiece not Kovalev. Or is this another GGG situation where coWard ducks the fight and claims hypothetical fantasy victories so his loser fans can have dignity online?

The ref will be critical to the outcome of this fight.

If the ref allows the kind of leaping in and holding that Ward likes to use to smother his opponent's attack it will be tough on Kovalev. If he penalizes Ward for excessive holding it will be a tough night for Ward.

I'm not going back and forth about this I will just wait and let the fight play out

Respect to both for actually wanting to fight each other while others are just PRETENDING like they want to fight the best!

Kovalev isn't a crude boxer. He's very strong and he can box. I'd be surprised if we don't see Ward on the outside more than we're used to.

Well Andre doesn't have Bernard's chin..

I think its gonna be the exact opposite, Kovalev has longer reach then Ward and has a great stinging jab, i think Wards best chance of winning is staying on the inside, frustrating Kovalev and potshotting him, he'll be moving in and out of range and hugging his body when they get close, the only question is if Ward is physically strong enough to bully Kovalev on the inside, and i believe he is, with him fighting in 179lbs 12 years ago in the olympics

If Ward can control the pace and the range i see him winning, but should be an entertaining fight and Kovalev will be dangerous for the full 12 rounds

You might be right but my feeling is Ward might have the physical strength but I think Kovalev can hurt you if you get too close, especially early. I don't think he's the kind puncher where you can just smother his power.

Andre Ward is going to fold after taking a long beating.

Great styles matchup but I'm pulling for Ward, one of my 5 favorite fighters. He has to keep his wits about him and bring all his skills to the table. Kov is no crude boxer but every fighter can be beat and he is not some invincible monster.
