So Spence only wants to move up in weight for Canelo only. Is that cool?

Golovkin: I'll fight anyone at 154, 160, 168
March 17th, 2012
Edwin Rodriguez Hopes A Tournament Victory Lands A Big Fight With Kessler, Ward, or Froch
March 13th, 2013
Ironically enough, the main event of the March 30th card is Gennady Golovkin vs. Nobuhiro Ishida for Golovkin’s WBA middleweight title. A fight between Rodriguez and Golovkin had been discussed over the past few months, but ultimately it was turned down by Rodriguez who explained that the terms of the fight weren’t adequate enough to take on a whim. However, he did say that he could see a potential fight down the road.
“I would love to [fight Gennady], his team and promotional company send me a contract to fight at 164lbs and next day they say I have to be 10lbs off. They go on HBO and say they’re big enough to fight anybody from 154 to 168, after I win this tournament I’m open if you want to fight me. My weight is 168lbs, come and get it.”
Rodriguez explained further that not only was he dissatisfied with the terms of the fight, but he also felt frustrated about the situation in its entirety and even took a stab at what a catch weight could suggest about the confidence in Golovkin and his team.
“Don’t send me a contract saying I have to be 10lbs off or come down to a catch weight, I’m a super middleweight and you said you’d fight anyone from 154 to 168 but then you’re fighting guys at light middleweights. If you’re really as good as you say and your team really believes you’re that good then move up and fight me at 168 and stop sending me contracts that aren’t even worth looking at.”Last edited by Motorcity Cobra; 07-03-2016, 12:02 PM.Comment

From all accounts I've read Horn, Vasquez & Peterson didn't want the fight. Thats how it got down to Bundu.Jeff Horn, Sammy Vasquez and Lamont Peterson all have a higher ranking in the IBF than Bundu, he is still trash and a 41 year old, shot midget. Yeah, Haymon made sure Spence doesn't have to fight someone like Vasquez or Peterson cuz that would have been a fight the fans could have enjoyed huh?
"You guys". Your "exposed" lolWhy is little Spence talking about moving up in weight for Canelo, and only Canelo, yet you guys, the usual suspect criticize GGG, when he wanted to move up to fight Froch or Chavez Jr?
You just keep exposing yourself.
I'm one of the cats defending GGG's desire to move up for big money fights. You need to get your **** straight & quit acting like everyone flip flops on a topic depending on the names involved. I ain't that guy.Comment

No, not suggesting GGG ducked Canelo, at all. I'm just saying he should be jumping at the opportunity to land a huge fight, under any reasonable circumstances.Just read your reply fully. You are suggesting that GGG ducked Canelo?
You realized that Loeffler said they are open to negotiate a weight for the Canelo fight after they handled them the belt?
Guess for usual suspects its cool for their hero Spence to move up for a money fight, but if some none black fighter does that, he is a fraud.
And Spence willing to do that is part for the course with pretty much anyone around or at Canelo's weight.Comment

This Thread kinda Fails Badly not sure what you're trying to prove with
Spence Jr is a guys still working his way up at Welterweight but yeah if a big match presents himself vs Canelo then yeah I'm sure he would jump at that opportunity but I still the comparison your're trying to make using a young guy working his way up and I guess comparing his situation to guys who are Veterans and WORLD CHAMPIONS saying who they would move up for?
Then you drag race into it which is really confusing, I swear Boxing Scene Forum has been taken over by the dumbest Boxing Fans on the Planet. Racism is all some of you know on this forum and you bring it up for no reason which is really funny but then turn around and accuse others of being "MORE RACIST"

canelo is one of the highest paid fighters in boxing. sold 600K ppv against khan. of course guys at or around his weight will take the fight.
remember jason litzau calling out manny pacquiao
? this is not new.
of course he's going to be willing to make a career high payday for a shot at boxing's biggest american draw.
i have no issue at all with a fighter being willing to do something unusual for the biggest fight in boxing. the canelo fight can earn you several times what you'd make on showtime or hbo. they do this for money. i know thta's hard to understand when you don't sign for a six or seven figure check in the locker room, but thta's whty they're there.Comment
