Comments Thread For: SHO's Espinoza: Canelo-GGG in "Fall 2017" Was To Stop Bleeding

Stephen Espinoza, head of Showtime Sports, is not convinced that we'll see a showdown between Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (47-1-1, 33KOs) and WBA/WBC/IBO/IBF middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs) in the fall of 2017.

Canelo is pathetic. GBP is pathetic. Canelo lied to everyone after the Khan fight. He stated Mexicans don't f*** around, well him and Oscar are both Mexican and they just f****d around all the fans and GGG.

Some people actually believe that there is a "verbal agreement" in place too. The fact that he ran away from the weight class and is fighting the worst title holder in history of 154 tells everything.

He ain't moving up until the coast is clear or until GGG starts to show age and weakness.

What Canelo did was the definition of the word "duck". To make matters worse, GB announced the fight for next fall. Not even next cinco de mayo weekend, but next fall!

I'm with Espinoza on this. How is fighting Liam Smith progressing toward a fight with GGG in any way?

There is a lot of time between now and then and a lot can happen so an agreement like that is kind of meaningless.

Like what if Canelo loses his next two fights or Golovkin slips up neither guy wants to be tied down with a fight that could be nothing like it was when the agreement was signed.

Canelo shouldn't have invited Lil G into the ring and said that Mexicans don't **** around, that he'd put on the gloves right now.

Because of that he looks like a bitch now.

Canelo dropped the belt. Why are people still complaining? He has no obligation to fight GGG anymore. Time for GGG and his fans to move on. GGG has his belt. He's a 4:1 favorite to beat Canelo. It's basically a mismatch so beating Canelo means he beat a fighter he was supposed to beat

He looks like a bitch regardless. He dropped his belt to avoid fighting his mandatory.
