I've seen Smith on tape several times , average nothing more... it'll b a Canelo wear him down and stop him 8/9rounds ...others deserved the chance b4 Smith but Fraudvarez does not take chances...

Hearn is like a fisherman trying to sell his fish and say it doesn't stink like fish.

It is a crappy fight especially if it is on ppv

is clear that smith isnt the best champion at 154, in fact he is the easiest one, but lets not forget that canelo already defeated lara who is ranked at the top of the division, and on top of that the rest of the champions are with haymon, and as far as i know oscar still has legal issues with him, so is logical that they will try to get the other champion first, unless is a good name like khan, floyd, etc.. i dont see oscar trying to make fights with haymon fighters that are relatively unknown or bring very little to the table... i see some fights taking place in the future like andrade once the sanctioning body orders it, but for oscar to go and ask for haymon fighters that really bring very little, i just dont see it... maybe if jroc beats lara or one of them unify and gets a couple of titles then this could happen, but for now those guys wont even fight each other ... the division will get interesting if the fights start happening soon...
that being said, this fight shouldnt be on ppv...

So it had nothing to do with the fact that Baldomir had just beaten the undesputed champ?

Nothing to do with the fact that Baldomir was unbeaten in eight years?

Nothing to do with the fact that Baldomir was the lineal and wbc champion?

The wbc and lineal champ, coming from a victory against the undesputed champ, and unbeaten champion, was less know than bum of the month Margarito who had done absolutely nothing in boxing at the time according to you?

I would have preferred to see Canelo fight Andrade or Charlo. No disrespect to Liam Smith but I fully expect Canelo to win this fight without getting out of first gear. We'll see but it's not a fight I'm particularly excited about.

154 needs Jrock and Andrade to dominate, coz you right, Lara, Charlo, and Charlo won't fight each other. Therefore Andrade beating Jermell and Jrock beating Jermall will open the division up and make for some interesting unfication bouts between Andrade, Jrock, and Lara.

I'm not counting Canelo and Cotto coz lets face it, those have turned into cowardly divas.

At the time EVERYONE was talking about Baldomir. He had beaten #1 ranked Judah. Beaten hugely popular Gotti. Was on the cover of Ring Magazine twice that year...Cheato was two fight removed from a LOSS in 2006 and fought 1 guy in 2006. No one knew who he was until later.

It's a terrible fight. Why is everyone NOT realizing what Canelo is doing? The man is making sure he wins outside of the ring before he gets in it. No challenges whatsoever. Liam Smith was carefully handpicked.

I am not rooting for Canelo you imbecile. Call it a cherry pick, I call it fighting a world champion that lends the least amount of cross promotional interest and clearly has the most fan friendly style out of the champions.

Once again for you GGG nutsucking fanboys, Canelo is a bit(h who bit(hed out. Just liek Frampton Bit(hed out against Rigo. That does not mean Smith is a ***** fighter.
You're right. Liam is being chosen not because he's *****, but because he's an unproven titlist. Guys like him are always targeted because they're perceived as easy marks. The match-up is fine if it means that it would lead to Canelo vs. Lara/Andrade/Charlos, but it most likely won't. He probably wants Smith's title so he has more bargaining power against Cotto in a rematch.
