I think Smith is underrated generally. He's a decent fighter and fundamentally sound. It's just that there are levels to boxing...and Canelo is a good few levels above.

Once again, a Smith fan who likes his chances to upset Canelo who I think has lost 4 times. You want Canelo to move up so GGG can knock him out so you ca crown him king. Yet Canelo is not the man to beat, he is a payday. I scored Trout/Lara and Cotto over Canelo on top of his loss to Mayweather.

I had canelo beating trout 115-112
I had canelo beating cotto 115-113

Those a fair scores for all of those fights that I wouldn't have a problem with. I had Cotto 7-5, Trout 7-5 and Lara 8-4. Canelo lands beautiful framed punches and is very savvy in the ring, just not nearly active enough.

I don't think Lara who struggled with Angulo and Molina would be more than 50/50 with Smith. I don't think the Cotto that looked uninspired against Trout would be more than 50/50 over Smith.

People are hating on this fight because they expect more from Canelo.
