You do have to take the intent behind a statement into account as well though.

The Mirror hacked the phones of dead kids. That tells you all you need to know about that rag.

Does that mean that WK fight will be overturned into a N/C?

Why is no one talking about this except the NY Post of UK media if this is a legit thing?

If he had a banned substance in his system, fair enough, he deserved to be suspended &/or stripped, but lets see someone respectable talking about this just to insure this is a legit thing & not some Tupac is living in Panama & married to Elvis' post-fake death daughter.

The only thing I can think of that would make sense is if they've found a result that indicates an abnormality but isn't enough to be an outright positive test. Test results aren't as black and white as common sense would expect, there's a lot of gray areas.

It could be similar to when the New York State Athletic Commission pulled Evander in to inform him that they knew what he was doing and that if he didn't stop it was only a matter of time before they caught him outright. Whether UKAD or the BBBC would take that route though is doubtful.
I agree with the bold but then again the news of Tony Thompsons failed tests only came out about a year afterwards because the UK way of doing things protected his privacy in the same way they are allegedly doing with Fury.

That's a very good point. I was looking at other fighters that had been banned to gauge the timescale but I'd completely forgot about Thompson with him not being British.

This snippet explains the process in that case:
'A spokesperson for UKAD stated, “The decision of the UK’s independent National Anti-Doping Panel (NADP) in relation to Tony Thompson was recently made available to the public in the current sanctions section of the UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) website. As per UKAD’s normal processes and as per the requirement under the World Anti-Doping Code, sanctions are published once due process, including all appeal windows, have been concluded.

“In the Thompson case, the decision was published after the ban concluded because the athlete instigated a lengthy legal process, including filing an appeal which he failed to progress and which was ultimately dismissed.“

Robert Smith, general secretary of the British Boxing Board of Control said, “They don’t announce it until all procedures have gone through, so that means the hearing and the appeal.

“We weren’t very happy it wasn’t announced in the beginning because when we used to do dope test hearings we used to suspend someone straightaway, do the hearing and the appeal but they do it differently.'
All of which is pretty ****ed up that a fighter can serve a ban without anyone knowing he's not elegable to box because he's appealing the decision.

That poses some questions in this case though. (Stand back I'm about to go full ******!)

If it's true has an announcement been delayed because he's appealed it?

In order to appeal a decision surely a decision (ie a ban) has to already have been made/put in place?

Is Tyson Fury currently serving an undisclosed ban!

****s & giggles aside it still leaves us scratching our heads as to what the **** is going on here!

Likely scenario is the most obvious. Tabloid tall tales.

Because they are the ones who had the source?

All the other news sites are reporting it, but only as a secondary article ("The Daily Mirror reports that..."). Its more the reaction of the involved parties that gives this story credence to me

It would not surprise me in the least if this is completely staged because of Fury's controversial comments. Obviously I can't prove it but IMO anyone who thinks it is a ridiculous insinuation has their head in the sand.

People who criticize them are always severely punished... often they get branded by the media as crazy and/or evil...

Idi Amin pissed them off, then suddenly we were reading about him being a cannibal

US Congressman James Traficant was brave enough to tell the truth about their influence, but then he was set-up and went to prison. Not long after he was released he died of a mysterious illness
