kovalev confidence booster after losing to ward should be ggg and ward after beating kovalev should fight fury/joshua or whoever is at the top since he said he would be heavy champ by 2016 but obv his plans got derailed by hbo who didn't want him to succeed in life

Kovalev will catch Ward and KO him in my opinion and I'll be backing that opinion with a fairly large bet. No way in hell does Eubanks go 12 rounds with GGG. That light puncher he just fought staggered him. GGG would KO him as cold as Canelo KOed Khan.
.....Sugar Ray Leonard got dropped by kevin howard....does that make him any less of a fighter?

I wouldnt call Hopkins rugged at 40
+ years old and at 175...he flopped more than lebron james as he aged. Ward breaks you down mentally and physically. Hopkins is a wily pro but not built for give and take fights....the MFer is 50

Dude was a prospect when that happened...that was what, almost a decade ago.

damn it must be difficult to criticize a fighter who has been dominant his entire career that you have to pull a kd from another decade out of your azz

but you dont point the guy hasnt been as much as buzzed since then...obviously he has a good chin and defense.

Hopkins was old as fck, but Nard has no answer technically and tactically wich impressed me.

Nard work behing his jab, and Kova countered his jab with double right hands all night long pushing him in the ropes with his jab.
          Smart game plan...

Kova set up his opponents and work to the body and the head, he's a quite creative puncher.

My pooint is Ward needs to clinch and frustrate Kova, making it a "jail fight" Hopkins being old and a former MW didn't have the strenght to "street fight" Kova.

Ward will need to bring blazing speed and helluva dirty game plan
          .
so ward needs to cheat nonstop to win? and this is what we call a great fighter? why are we lying to ourselves? we already saw ward-kessler which was one of the worst fights of the last decade full of clinching "greatness" so lets not see another. and hopkins did try to clinch kovalev at times but kovalev landed some great punches while he was doing it so i think he preferred to stay away and move. unfortunately ward doesn't even have old hopkins movement so he will be forced to headbutt jump into kovalev and hold nonstop. its goign to be terrible but hopefully he's ko'd quickly to save us the pain.

your point....Hopkins lost...Kov was the better man that night....sooooo

yea Hopkins doesnt age he gets better...MFer was 50 and past prime. I picked Hopkins because at that point Kov hadnt fought anyone with HOPKINS knowledge of the game and boxing skills

Kov proved he is an elite fighter by beating one....One day GGG will...maybe anyway

                  do you want a cookie.

Kovalev has better footwork than Kessler and Froch. He's quicker in and out of his opponent's distance. He's also not a technically simple fighter. He jabs to the stomach well. He knows how to loop his right hand. He is just a better fighter than Kessler and Froch both. Also Froch did win 4 rounds against Ward. It wasn't a landslide win.

Stop trying to downplay it in retrospect then by calling him a flop & citing age..
