  • Why can't Team GGG pay Jacobs the 4-5 mil he asks for? Khan made 13 mil vs Canelo

If GGG is the star you guys claim he is, then his team needs to stop being cheap and pay Jacobs the $$$ he asks for.

All I hear is GGG sold out this aren in 5 seconds. Or GGG had 20,000 fans at this venue, etc, etc. GGG is a massive star.

If that's the case, then pay Jacobs the $$$ he wants. Once BJS stops ducking Jacobs, Jacobs can KO BJS and will in turn make the GGG-Jacobs fight that much more lucrative.

Canelo, who's a real star I might add, got Khan 13 mil. But GGG who's supposed to be just as big a star if not bigger than Canelo, can't get Jacobs a measly 4-5 mil?

Spare me with the Jacobs vs Quillin numbers. What was Khan vs Alexander numbers? That's right, Khan got 600k against Alexander. But being that he fought a star in Canelo, he got 13 mil.

But the great big star in GGG can't give Jacobs 4-5 mil? Either he isn't the star you guys think he is, thus making him the high risk-low reward we think he is or his team is really really cheap. One or the other.

The only way it gets done is if GGG says he'll give Jacobs his entire purse or take an 80-20 split.

It is a good question why can't tom leoffler offer a sum jacobs or wanders find acceptable. Saunders is asking for 2.5M that seems more than fair

Lol. Ggg highest purse for his entire card haven't even exceeded 4 million and the clowns here think it's realistic for them to pay unknown boxers 4-5 million. What?

GGG fans are only accountants when it comes to explaining why he wouldn't fight Ward at 168 but he would fight Froch and Chavez Jr at 168. That's the only time they break out their abacus and start crunching numbers

Has GG elevated to a Cotto/Canelo level now that he can make huge offers?

GG/Jacobs is probably equivalent to LSC/Frampton.

Can't believe people are defending ducks.

GGG's highest ever purse is $2 million but let's get HBO to pay a lower ranked fighter with negligible fans $4-$5 million

                Makes sense

I haven't closely followed what each fighters purses were on what they made and what their opponents made in recent fights. But honestly it comes down to this. Al Haymon is a raging ass hole to negotiate with. In a passive aggressive way. He is going to try and win tooth and nail on every front to get everything he possibly can for his fighter. In every facet of negotiation he is going to try to win on his side being Jacobs under his promotion. All the nitty gritty details in contract stipulations he's going to want to fight over. This is what he does. He does it to such a high degree, even using it as a back door way to throw a wrench in getting a fight made by someone he doesn't want matched up with. My personal opinion is that he's over ambitious and this kind of ethics will drive himself into the ground. Fighters aren't like real estate or stocks. You don't own them and new opportunities can refuse a contract. It's only a matter of time before a faction of his fighters deviate from his vision/promotion. His advising places a ceiling on a fighters potential. For instance when Floyd was Errol's age, he was running through weight classes. Errol is being held like a pre-Madonna and isn't in the negotiating position to make fights with the biggest reward. Just has to wait his turn. Same goes for Jacobs. He just isn't important enough to take on serious risk, thus risking Haymon's interest. Like we all know, Haymon's interest are apparently his fighters interest... like we haven't heard that **** before.

Anyways, team Golovkin is very green and feel they have a real jackpot with Golovkin. Time is ticking though, and boxers around him are just waiting his career out. He should be running the show and demanding his team does everything in their power to get fights like Froch made back when it was possible
