PS: I am not a GGG fan...
    Jacobs is not unknown.

Those are Mosely vs Mayorga II numbers.

Any MW who beats him suddenly becomes the man and can start calling the shots. The truth is GGG's not a big enough draw to be able to offer opponents who bring no fan base $2 or $3 million. They all want retirement $$$.
Golovkin had to go to PPV to pay David Lemieux to fight; in Golovkin's entire run on HBO, how many times has K2 paid over $500k to bring in an opponent for Golovkin?

Being handed three belts has nothing to do with it; Alvarez, Cotto, Jacobs, Saunders, Lara, Andy Lee, and Peter Quillin, among others, all have fights in hand that pay better than the nonsense pay that K2 has already been shown willing to pay for Golovkin's opponents (and nice try with that "p4p without fighting anyone else serious" nonsense).

If Golovkin wants to continue on fighting cans, so be it; he's already 34, has maybe 2 more years before the body starts to fall apart (with the extensive amateur career that he's had, on top of what would be 13 years as a pro and doing it all at the same weight, the lack of some breakdown would be suss).

The notion that Golovkin is supposed to continue on making $1.5m/$2m to fight, while quality opponents are shamed into taking steep discounts on their own purses to fight a guy who hasn't fought anyone and is not a star, is laughable.

So he starched Peter Quillen (again, who?) & he's suddenly worth $4-5 million?? Last I heard, Jacobs was saying he's not ready for Golovkin yet. Now he wants a mint to face him? FOH!
If K2 is unwilling to even sit to negotiate a deal with anyone (notice how folks have already ignored the fact that K2 paid Willie Monroe Jr $100k to fight, while Abel Sanchez was left to run his mouth about how Monroe was a more meaningful fight than Lara, with folks like you backing that bull****), what is stopping K2 from calling Lou DiBella (Jacobs) or Frank Warren (Saunders), giving them the number it'd take to bring Golovkin to the fight, and leave the risk of making the numbers work to some other promoter?

5 of Jacobs last 9 fights have been at Barclays Center, Jacobs-Mora II will be held at the Barclays Center, and Barclays Center has been clear in their support for their native son.

K2 being unwilling to put up the money, Lou DiBella calls Frank Warren to see what it'd take to put Saunders-Jacobs together (rather than talk platitudes about possible money, the two gentlemen actually negotiate something) or the WBA pulls Golovkin's card (with Jacobs already mandatory challenger, the low-ball offer from K2 will inherently trigger the purse bid, and DiBella seems more willing to spend the money with him than K2 seems willing to spend their own money; DiBella owing no allegiance to HBO, K2 has a decision to make).

Let's say GGG is the beast people make him out to be (you can disagree, but how can you then say he is super high-risk?). People turn down career-high paydays to fight him. Why do you think that is?

I think fans are frustrated with the current state of boxing, where it seems as if fighters are less content on proving their worth and championship meddle, and more concerned with preserving their '0' and making multi six-figure paydays fighting the Rod Salkas of the world. Hey, I get it, you're getting punched in the face for a living.

But the fact remains that behavior isn't always what the fans would like to see.
Who has "turned down a career-high payday" to not face Golovkin? Daniel Jacobs just made $1.5m to fight Peter Quillin, and will likely make $1m/near $1m to rematch Sergio Mora. Ignoring what drivel people want to say about Daniel Jacobs demanding a bajillion dollars, what do you think that K2 is even considering to offer Jacobs to earnestly try to make the fight?

Billy Joe Saunders has the Eubank rematch as a possibility; between the live gate and the UK TV money, it's not like Saunders is walking away with pennies on the fight. What did K2 offer to pay Saunders for coming into the UK market ($2.5m was the last number that I've heard, K2 has yet to put out an actual number for what they allegedly offered, and even that doesn't bring into account the amount of extra money that would be due to be made with staging the fight in the UK, compared to anywhere else on the planet Golovkin has already had fights staged).

Friday Night Fights had fallen on tougher times, but I doubt that the $100k purse was life-changing money for Willie Monroe Jr (haven't seen any definitive info, but I doubt Monroe Jr's pay on the 6/11 fight was all that much below the Golovkin pay out.

Golovkin hasn't offered anyone life-changing money, so why push that lie?

Jacobs has money backing him, as demonstrated by what Showtime and Barclays Center put behind him for the Peter Quillin fight (and, for the most part, his entire road back from the cancer diagnosis).

People forget that MGM Resorts paid out a rumored $16m to Cotto-Alvarez at Mandalay Bay Resorts (Roc Nation and Golden Boy got their allotments but, if they wanted to, MGM Resorts didn't have to offer a single ticket to the public because they'd already bought them, in essence).

Whether from the guy off the street walking up or from a sponsor putting up the funds, money is money.

                  Q. If Jacobs has money backing him then why dont they make GGG an offer?

Alvarez, Cotto and even Martinez were A side and GGG would have taken less money, yet the fights never happened.

Quillin and Jacobs did horrible with the viewers and neither is a draw. Saunders was the draw so his was team responsible to pay him, but nobody would give Saunders the money he wanted.

You say in other posts that Jacobs has money backing him up. Where is that money? Why can't that money give him the 4-5 million he wants. I bet it's because he isn't worth it.
