Keith Thurman continues the steady transition from "One Time" to primetime.
The unbeaten welterweight titlist was forced to walk through hell and beyond in order to prevail over Shawn Porter in their Fight-of-the-Year level 12-round war Saturday evening at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The CBS-televised headliner carries even more good news, with the fantastic battle pulling in an average of just over 2.4 million viewers according to the first round of ratings results provided by Nielsen Media Research, making it the most watched bout of 2016 to date.

The hate for Haymon and PBC is real.
Real boxing fans want more fights, and it's clear that PBC is taking the casual audience by storm. Expect double numbers by this time next year. The boxing resurgence is real.

Canelo averaged 2.146mil viewers last March on HBO while only available in 25% of the homes that Porter-Thurman was. It's not a terrible number for Thurman but certainly not great. Very disappointing. I expectd 4mil. This fight was highly anticipated which Canelo Kirkland wasn't.
At least the action in the ring delivered so that it didn't turn off any new potential fans.Comment

Haymon's cards are the only thing keep boxing relevant at all...Haymon doesn't rob his fighters for big percentages like Arum and Golden Boy either...
Haymon isn't even that rich because he only take a managerial cut which is very low compared to promoters who rob their fighters...
I love the CBS, NBC and Fox fights...Thurman-Porter on CBS allowed me to watch from home without having to spend money at a bar..and it was a better fight than most of the crap on HBO and Showtime..
Kudos to Haymon...Comment
